Well, Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 4 got this week’s deserved challenge. Can’t say I’m not happy with this, such an awesome game.

Anyway, I probably won’t be able to update this topic today and next Friday due to some stuff, but I’m placing my bets that Musaic Box is getting this week’s challenge. Apparently there’s an “scores” API now. Though, I’m not sure what’s it about.
Either way, I can’t think of any very successful game released this week.
EDIT: Apparently UMAG2 is out. Oh, boy.

This is the first Kongregate Challenge of this new series my mum can’t get. The guitar rhythm is hard to get.

She doesn’t have one. She just prefers to play it on her laptop not logged in as anyone; moaning about the adverts. I keep reminding her I have Kong Plus which removes ads, but she stays unswayed. Oh mother.

I got like three platinum and a couple gold (just enough to complete the challenge). I’ve found out that it’s way easier for me to master those games without listening to the music. It’s annoying and distracting.
With the game muted (or no speakers as in my case), it becomes a matter of pressing a key when it reaches the line; no distractions of any kind.

New challenge up:
Abobo’s Big Adventure
Fatal Attraction Challenge
Complete level 3 in Abobo’s Big Adventure to unlock the Star of Freedom in Chronicles of Herenvale!

Neon Race
Noble Gas Guzzler Challenge
Complete the first 5 levels in Neon Race 2 to unlock the Fulfilling Myst card in Tyrant!
By the way, we have four challenges on the Current Challenges page (Abobo’s, Neon Race 2, and the Rage 3 and Fairway Solitaire contests) and only Rage 3 has any badges, which it got in 2008. Certainly an unusual situation.

I am eagerly awaiting the Abobo badges! :3
edit: Neon Race 2 and Zombies Inc. now have Badges! But still hidden for now.

So, I never actually bothered to check, since all the Friday challenge rewards have been to crappy games that I’ve had no interest in until Clash of the Dragons got badges, but do you need to log onto the game while the challenge is active to get the challenge reward? Today was the first time I logged onto CotD and I don’t see the gold pack anywhere on my account. Oh well, I guess that’s a whole lot of missed out loot from the previous challenges, I guess.

DuckLife 4…
This game is actually F*ckLife, what you need to do is play those stupid minigame again and again. I cannot believe this piece of poop series has such a lot of sequels :(

Tip for DuckLife, most of the minigames are complete garbage and don’t level the skills as fast as the other ones. So just intentionally kill yourself at the start of those and focus on the most efficient ones.

Which ones are the better ones to focus on?

ive given a 1/5 to all 4 in the series. there is no gameplay. i think 4 is actually the worst in the series, but thanks to a cult like support, it keeps getting high ratings.
reward is whatever, i only have the easy kongai badge and not sure ill ever play the game, but its there and maybe i will one day.

In the fly training, only play the last cannon game.

For speed, I only ever did the third one.
For swimming, the second one is terrible, the first one is your best bet and the third one is short.
For flying the first one is decent, but the second one is garbage, and again, the third one is short.
For climbing, only the second one is any good.
And for jumping, the first is probably the absolutely mindblowingly worst possible minigame. I can’t possibly fathom how on Earth that someone could have play-tested that minigame and actually thought that was in any way a good idea to put in there.
The second one produces the best results, but can be really spotty unless you get the hang of it. The third one is okay, but I ended up using that mostly because I couldn’t get the hang of the second one.

Tested the speed training…
run 1:
game 1: survived 65 sec, +4 lv
game 2: survived 55 sec, +5 lv
game 3: survived 120 sec, +7 lv
run 2:
game 1: survived 40 sec, +2 lv
game 2: survived 70 sec, +6 lv
game 3: survived 60 sec, +3 lv
so the 2nd game in speed is the best choice

Fair enough, I guess I focused too much on the score going up so slow in the 2nd game, as opposed to realizing that the score is completely arbitrary to each game and has no real relevance otherwise.

This game is just horrible… I mean, are they really expecting me to beat stage 1 with a stat of 40, then go back there to get it up to 100 just to stand a chance in stage 3?
*mumbles about bad challenge choice*

You’re really better off just getting 150 in each stat the first time you to the level. You’re going to have to get there to beat the 3 levels before the final level anyway, so you might as well get it done early so you don’t waste time losing races.

kong staff is for the people. if the people want to highly rate objectively terrible games, kong will promote said terrible games.
i place no blame on kong. i blame all ducklife cultists.
