Clash of the Dragons didn’t send it out, the Kong administration did.

That’s my point, why does it matter who sent it out when I’ve blocked Clash anyway? Why am I still getting their spam?

Games should be blocked by default if you rate them 1 or 2 stars, but be able to send messages to people who rated them 3 or more stars. I seriously think this would solve almost everyone’s complaints. Developers are not getting any benefit by message the people who already don’t like their game. 1000 people who like your game is a much better target then 10,000 people who hated your game.
Can we make this a petition or something?

Would an admin mind explaining the rationale behind being unable to delete Kongregate Announcements?

And I just got ANOTHER Clash of Dragons message sent from Kongregate Announcements. Even after I had both blocked CoD AND changed my rating of it from 5 to 1. Brilliant stuff Kong, brilliant…

Yup, Blade.
They are going to continue to spam our mail box with their “crap” announcements.
I still don’t see why there can’t be a separate mailbox for all these useless announcements, and one for our normal messages.
Or a better idea is to stop with this policy of adverting through kongregate pm and just use the front page or make a different page announcing such things.

Or just allow us to delete these stupid messages. I’d be all for that as a simple solution.
Seriously, why does the message need to stay in my list of messages after the promotion is over?

Thank goodness I didn’t click the game. I haven’t gotten a single one about or/and from Clash of The Dragons.

I also blocked Clash of the Dragons because I don’t want messages from them. I thought that was the purpose of the block messages feature, yes? What happened, did too many people block it so you had to use the Kongregate account or what?

It actually made me hate the game even more. Rating : Changed to 1. Blocked.

And another Clash whisper form the Kongregate account, this time with no competition or anything to justify it being from that account: it’s just an update to the game. Seriously guys? Seriously?

Yeah, the first two were reasonable enough but this one not so much, oh well still enjoy getting messages. :)

Woops! This is a bug, those messages shouldn’t be getting sent out to people who have blocked Clash of the Dragons. When you block the game, it should block all messages for it. We’re looking into fixing this. Sorry!

That’s great and all, so that means you’re going to change it so that we can delete these messages now, right?

I have 3 unremovable messages from Clash in my whispers (dated 13th, 20th and two hours ago), despite the fact the last time I played the thing was on the 23rd of March when I got the medium badge. I seem to recall being told at some point those were sent to people who played the game “recently”? Whatever the case I decided third time’s a charm and actually went in there again to block the game, making it a first, I hope it’ll stop bothering me now. Didn’t lower the rating since I personally don’t think it’s the game’s fault but if this persists I may consider it. The messages being impossible to delete is not to my liking, it’s not really harming me in any way and I can live with those just sitting there but it doesn’t sound right in my book, just saying.
On that note I noticed BoomFrog’s idea from the 15th and I have to say I love it. I have no idea how viable it is resource and marketing wise but toggling the games to subscribed/blocked based on the rating we give them (with the option to manually override this of course) sounds like a great solution for me. If I gave something a 4 or 5 stars it is at the very least likely I’d be interested in its further development or other stuff from that developer.
Edit: a late thought, actually having a setting on our accounts to decide from what rating we’d like to have “autosubscribe” (or autoblock I suppose) a game (still being able to override it manually of course) could, for me, turn this pain in the back into a really great feature.

Kongregate is just getting pathetic.
Do something about clash of the dragons, honestly.
Three messages from the same game is unfair to other games, and a massive nuisance.
At least let other games spam me, lol. <sarcasm>

Can’t we at least be allowed to delete messages from Kongregate itself?
I can’t have looked at Clash of the Dragons more than twice, and the second time will have been an accident, but now my private messages are forever sullied by two uninteresting and undeletable messages about it.

You can delete the messages sent to you by games.

These messages, though they may be advertisements for games, are not sent by the games. They are instead sent through Kongregate Announcements, and are therefore undeletable.
Please refer to my post in another thread containing all of the messages which I can’t delete from my PMs. Note none of the pink messages have the option to delete them.

These are messages about games sent from Kongregate itself.
EDIT: Shouldn’t have left the page open.

Yeah, I have no real problem with games sending out the PMs… it only takes a few seconds to open the page, look at the message and delete it if it’s not relevant to my interests.
I just want to make sure that I am able to delete them. I don’t want to open up my PMs every time I get a new one and have a bunch of old pink messages that are no longer relevant sitting there taunting me.
I don’t understand why they were never set to be deletable in the first place. Does it really matter that some guy I reported 2 years ago got banned? Or that some user shot me an orange portal a year ago?

I pay for Kong+. I don’t want game-centric mass-audience messages from either Kong or from the Developer. I am perfectly capable of playing the games I want to… of finding the games I want to… of surfing the internet. Give me an option to opt-out ahead of time (ie: without having to block games or devs), and not get these messages/ads (where’s my ad-free kong?), or I won’t renew my Kong+ next year.
If a Developer mails me directly, I’m happy with that. If Kong makes it easy for a Developer to spam me, then I’m not fine with that.
Be a website I respect.

We’re looking into why they are being sent as Kongregate announcements. Thank you guys for your patience! We want to make sure you can block these messages and delete them if you aren’t interested.
