Any reasoning behind this? Can you not skip them? Are they a drop-down or pop-up that inhibits other uses of the site? Are they malicious in any way? Are they planning ill intentions with our daughters?

Maybe you should take their advice.
I already put a seat belt on my computer chair and now I am super safe while playing internet games

It’s for a good cause. :) “Seat belts reduce serious crash-related injuries and deaths by about 50%.” – NHTSA
The more awareness we can spread, the more people who will be alive! To play on Kongregate…

I’m assuming you mean this ad, right? It’s been used in the past a few times, and I never saw any complaints about it (in fact, people seemed to like the free points from it). I thought that there used to be an option to skip it before it even started playing, though maybe it’s been changed since then.
Oh, and Z, that link you posted gives me a 404 error.

Seat belts actually CAUSE more car crashes.
Lets look at the facts:
1. Seat belts make people feel secure
2. When people feel secure, they are more likely to take risks
3. When people take risks while driving, they crash more.

While we’re about it, campaign to stop clocks changing for Daylight Savings Time/British Summer Time. Road traffic accidents increase by a statistically significant amount in the week following the changing of clocks, presumably due to altered sleep patterns. It doesn’t particularly matter which time convention the clocks are kept at, but changing them harms people.

Causing car crashes is one thing; the damage from a car crash is a completely different thing.

The variety in Kongregate’s pre-game advertising is staggering.
I actually had a nightmare about getting pulled over for not wearing a seat belt last night. Kongregate, stop Inceptioning me.

Honestly, whenever an ad spams me on this site, it makes me want to do the opposite of what it tells me to do. So, I’m not getting Max Payne 3, and I’m considering cutting off my seat belts.
…..just kidding about that last bit. That being said, if a person wants to drive without a seat belt, let him. One less idiot in the world to worry about. Survival of the smartest FTW!

Seat belt ads are (somewhat) educational unlike most other ads

Except I know someone who said that her sister once met someone that was a friend of someone who heard from their aunt that an acquaintance was killed because their seatbelt trapped them inside a burning car.
Therefore your point is invalid and no one should ever wear seatbelts.

I’m pretty sure the ad is racist, the white guy in the ad wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and he didn’t get a ticket, but the black guy did.
Clear racism, 0/5.

Wear your seatbelt! It will save you from the zombies!
In the comercial a zombie pops up out of the back seat and he slams the breaks and the zombiw flyes througt the windshield while he stays in the car.
It said seatbelts save you from zombies! Finnaly a commercial that is convincing! I will always wear it now!

Wouldn’t it be ironic if a seat belt ad popped up right before you start crazy rally driving game :p
Example: Road of the Dead or Async Racing

Actually that seems perfectly fitting to me, because when someone is about to drive recklessly is the best time to remind them to wear their seatbelt.

That’s the shortened version of the advertisement, though. The full one you get 20 points for watching features both getting a ticket.
