What country are you in?

And if you are in the US, do you have a social security number, and do you know what it is?

Yep – never claim it.

Odds are you don’t owe any taxes anyway. But it’s like that $0.58 interest that your savings account earned last year, it’s too much of a PitA to report.

Yeah this is a tricky issue for me too. I don’t mind filling out the forms, but I don’t have any photo ID (which is required).

I am in the united arab emirates, but i started this account before i moved from england. So i guess i should still count it as english.

How exactly do i not claim it? :P hahaha…

What kongregate made out in the email was that it would be cut regardless of where i live.

Just don’t give Kongregate any of your information and there’s no way they can give you money. So 0%.

that makes no sense.

I’ve dealt with something like this before. Just don’t fill out the information, and you won’t be paid. You only need to fill out the forms if you’re being paid the money, which won’t happen until after the forms are already filled out.

How about you stop insulting everyone, especially the people going out of their way to try and help you, while you speak with terrible grammar and neglect to clearly communicate what you want for us to help you with.

If you want to be paid without paying the taxes, then that’s too bad. Only thing I can say is suck it up, and start being more responsible about this. You’re transparently letting your greed get the best of you, and trying to take all the money without paying proper taxes. You are no exception to the rule: Everyone has to pay taxes, just accept it and stop trying to get around your responsibilities.

To clarify, this post was primarily directed at the last post by the OP before this one, since all of his posts in this thread are about different, random stuff.

The 30% may or may not apply depending on the law where you live, but for places where it doesn’t apply, filling out the forms is the only way to get it paid to you.

You can’t claim the money without paying the withholding tax on it unless you have a USA tax ID.

“You can’t claim the money without paying the withholding tax on it unless you have a USA tax ID.”

I’ve always been told to just leave the tax ID section blank, but that’s as Brit…different nations have different arrangements.

If you leave it blank, you’ll be charged a 30% tax on it. If it’s blank right now, go to your profile and you’ll see a link to a page explaining it in more detail.

Yeah, the advice from Kong and the advice from UK sources is in conflict, I figure I’ll settle it if I ever reach enough to cash out.

hmmm that leads to one last thing then, how do i complete the “details” so that i can get paid (regardless of whether tax is applied or not, ill just live with it, somthings better than nothing)

sorry let me make this more clear…. i changed my payment method from waiting to paypal, now i may/may not have my 30% deducted… thats fine.

HOWEVER,

how would i go about completing a W8ben or whatever its called forum, i dont see a place where i type in all my details nor do i see a form i must complete (although kong did say theres an electronic one, which i cant find)

i am more than willing to sign the forums and do all thats necessary, i just dont know how to _
