Kongregate has just added a new feature called ‘Kreds’. These have a money value, and can be donated to developers, or a few other uses.

What are these other uses?

How much is 1 Kred worth to a developer?

What is the communitys thoughts on these ‘Kreds’?

The fact that there is this huge:
“You have not supported your favorite games yet :(.”

On my profile downright annoys me. I feel alienated against for not being willing to spend real money on flash games. I understand the concepts of encouraging users to support developers by purchasing Kreds, but placing such an EYESORE on our profiles is wrong.

I have to agree with Kyru, I do not plan on buying “kreds”, therefore that section is rendered useless and just annoys me ever so much.

I don’t think this is what people meant when they said “I want to be able to spend my points”.

The fact that there is this huge:

Ability to hide that, similar to what can be done with Tickets would be nice.

I see that Kyru has not supported any games on his profile…

Also, showing which games people support cancels out “Anonymous donating”.

Oh good. That makes a difference. The glaring accusation made me feel crummy. =/

To buy:

US$5 = 50 creds.
US$10 = 110 creds.
US$20 = 225 creds.

Unsure how much it’s worth to the actual developer when cashing out. Also the addition of the second ad on game pages will help boost developer (& Kongregate) income. Pretty good update for developers. I’m still keen to see how Kreds will be used when buying premium items, I just hope its good enough to provide incentive without disadvantaging the players who wish to play free.

(Way to totally screw up your 666 post, Kyru.)

Actually, it’s supposed to be hidden unless you’ve donated to a game. That slipped through, we’ll fix it as soon as we can. It’s not meant to be some peer pressure thing.
