Goodbye Kongregate (locked)

You were an awesome site while you lasted. However, the money-grubbing <insert> from GameStop have ruined it. The massive increase in adds (which do support the site, I know) was annoying but at least I was able to skip them after a few seconds. Now however, every game I try to play forces a full-length add on me. The only way around this is to give you money, kind of like the old extortion rackets (“Pay us and we will leave you alone”).

I know the loss of my patronage won’t kill the site, and I will miss out on all the fun games here. I will have to console myself by going directly to sites like Armor Games instead.

So long and thanks for all the fish/games/whatever.

We’ve had the same advertisements before we partnered with GameStop, as well as Kreds, MMOs, and other “money-grubbing <insert>”. In fact, it looks like ArmorGames slaps on more advertisements to their gamepage than we do. I’m sorry to see you go because of this, as it’s really the best gaming site around with a wide variety of developers.

For future reference, we’d appreciate that farewells and goodbyes be kept to our departing thread and best of luck to you! Should you choose to come back, we’ll be here for you. :)
