Okay, I feel bored and curious. Also figured it was time enough for another little giveaway. I also feel fairly lazy, so this “contest” is going to be a very simple one. Yes, I’m giving away a year of Kong+ or 300 Kreds to the winner again.
Just give a fond memory, funny story, horrible instance embarrassing moment, a fond and funny embarrassingly horrible event, whatever, you have of Kong. Be it from when you first came to just yesterday. Have fun and let’s share and remember a little about ourselves for the enjoyment of others.
Rules: Multiple stories accepted, but limited to one entry. Entry must contain “/entry” at the end of the post or story to be considered. If the story contains specific users, omit names if it will deface them. Y’know, avoid the harassment and call-outs and whatnot. Common sense on that one.
Cut-off: Entries must be submitted by 18:00 Central time on July 21, 2012. http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
Entry: Entries are pretty much just a posted story/memory in this thread. Just remember to add “/entry” at the bottom of your post if it is going to be your entry.
Judging: I, others, whoever will judge on their own prerogative. Whether they favor humor, stupidity, coincidence, whatever, so be it. I’m not going to judge the judges.
The “/entry” thing makes it very easy for the judges to locate entries and still allows people to participate in the thread whether they want to enter or not. I’ll show an example in the next post.
Have fun, loves.

Well, my most embarrassing memory goes back to 2008. Regulars of ‘Gibson’ (formerly known as, ‘The Gibson’) were exchanging pictures of themselves in the chat room. I decided to join in. After submitting a link to my Photo-bucket account I was bombarded with comments a long the lines of: “TDM is a girl?”, “Dream is FEmale?!”.
Chat went a little crazy after that for a while and I starting receiving some rather odd questions. It turns out that the word, ‘Master’ in my username leads people to automatically assume that I’m a man. /facepalm
Still to this day I have a hard time explaining that my alias is a reference to a movie and in no way implies I’m a guy. In fact, just a couple of days ago a good friend of mine found out that I’m a girl after approximately two years of talking to me. I suppose you could say I’ve had quite a few embarrassing gender-related mix-ups.

One of my favorite memories of Kong was way back, when I was just asked if I wanted to become a mod. I hadn’t really considered it before then, but I figured “What the Hell, why not?”. So I accepted and replied to the e-mail address specified. I was supposed to get a reply with additional information regarding the modding process, but after a good while, still nothing. So, with the help of Ducky and Anthony, we figured out what happened. My e-mail was filtered as drug spam due to the rx in my name. >.< Oh, what humor that was.
/entry (Not really an entry, just an example.)

So you’re allowed to enter multiple stories, as long as they’re in the same post?

Or multiple posts, just make the entry have the /entry on it.

I assume that “reminiscence” was what was actually meant, but it’s still misspelled.
EDIT: And now it’s not.

Ha. That wasn’t what I was trying to spell, but I did misspell “reminiscence”. >.<
EDIT: Ninja’d.

This isn’t my entree, I made a new one that is on the second page that is my new one, this is just a cool story!
Just a few days ago I had the strangest string of coincidences that I could have sworn that I was dreaming. So I logged on to Kong, I’m normally just here to play games but I decided that I’d make a thread for the first time in over a year so I did. After that was over, I went over to one of my friend’s profiles and saw their most recently played game so I decided to play that too, it was pretty fun, unbadged and unknown, but the developer seemed like he put a lot of effort into it even though it didn’t have much of a playrate. I periodically played that game while checking the status of my thread. After a while though I saw that the developer of the game that I was playing responded to my thread out of random, I didn’t know it was the dev of the game I was playing and he didn’t know that I was playing it. It was just a strange coincidence.
So then I started working on the “Generic Achievement” badge on the game Generic Defense game and I missed the score of 100,000 by getting 99,050. (I got it my next try.) Then I was playing the game 3D logic while still stalking the threads whenever I got stuck and needed a break.
It was while looking at more threads when I found a person who I never saw on this site before but we’ve been friends from a different website, not gaming related, from years back and haven’t talked to in about as long. I knew it was him because he had the same name and profile picture he used on the other website, it was crazy. This was one of the first times I ever used the forums and I met an old friend and made a new one at such a strange time.
After I beat 3D logic I played rotaZion and after a crazy amount of tries I got a score of 79,800 while the badge’s goal was 80,000 and it is scored by 200 points each dodge, so I pretty much missed the mark by 1. I beat it about 20 tries later though.
At night time I started playing the game Red where I needed to survive for 600 seconds, or 10 minutes to get the hard badge. I played that for a while and I finally thought that I was let myself die, I had lasted 599 seconds. So I rage quit and went to bed. (I beat it today though, finally!)
When I think about it, that was probably the craziest, most coincidental day on Kong that I’ve ever had.

Y-You beat it that fast? I feel stupid now… Haha, it was difficult but when you keep a clear brain and take breaks it comes back easily. I’m pretty good at puzzle games though lol.

I switched from my main foruming account (DoctorWhooves) just to avoid the spam filter. I-It looks like I’m going to have to leave Kongregate now…

Yep, I took breaks whenever I got stuck. It really helps.

One of my favorite memories of Kong that I can actually remember is when I finally felt more a part of the community. Actually, my fondest memory here is all of it, so here is a mini life story. It was late 2008/early 2009, when I first met Randomboy, 123, GoW, and many others. These were back in the day of the “Dude, you just won x Badge and x points!” Later on that year, Ghostlygamer, back then alias Hyperjumble, and I, were competing for the top score in Perfect Balance; he won. I started off in The Hillside, and stayed there until about level 24, which was high at the time, but then I started to move around later.
Late 2009 was the time where I tried to do everything: I made people avatars, creating them from scratch in paint of all utilities. I made games, albeit they were stupid and simple then, and still are. I first started my passion for remixing songs, which is really starting to go somewhere nowadays. I made my first alternate account along with my first, and favorite .gif avatar. I cannot remember, but that would most likely be the time of my first forum post; my entrance into the community. Many people do not know this, but I was one of the first beta testers of Anti-Idle, as well as helping Tukkun test out some other designs, like one based on Space Tiles, which I also tested (Note: The credits :D)
During 2010 I was doing the usual routine; I was badge hunting, playing Platform Racing 2 with friends, and using Whatpulse, F@H, and all those other popular tools at the time. It was then that I started making alternates like crazy, including a certain notable one that to this day, not one soul knows it is I. I became more active on the forum, but still did not post as much as I do now. 2010 was also the year of room hopping: I moved from The Hillside, to the Land of TrueMerc, Area 51. I then went to find Mankirk’s wife in Barren’s Chat, and settles down there with a few friends for a while. I was then moved to The Red Bucket, because many friends stayed there, and still do (Rest In Peace Vallin). I’ve been there through 3 room owner changes, from Vallin, to Kralis; from Kralis, to uuu2.
2011 was another great year, and with the Badge of the Day happening then, I was coming here daily. I did miss the first badge of the day, and it is still the only one I have missed, making it really stand out ( YHTBTR).
Nowadays I am happily still earning badges, hanging out in TRB/Labyrinth, tending to my alts, hosting certain pizza parties with some recent additions to the ‘following’ list. (Maist, Prec, Blizz, VG, the rest). This concludes my condensed life story on Kongregate, mostly because there are so many good memories that I could stay here forever if I could type and remember them all :P
Oh, and I heard someone still likes to blow bubbles.
/entry (This whole post above this point is the entry)
Please excuse my writing; writing has never been my strong suit.

My favorite memory was that time when everybody assumed I wanted to buy a laser keyboard so I could turn my penis into a keyboard.
MyDreamName: I can just imagine Lurker and I sitting in the Kongregate Tinychat late at night, and Iām doing something like emulating Time Crisis and then suddenly Lurker starts sending off long lines of spam.
That is, by far, the best Kongregate quote ever.

My most memorable moment was when I got the last band aid I needed on Meat Boy and finally got that bastard of an impossible badge. I’m surprised I even had hair after that. I’m still scared to even try to do the same with Meat Boy Map Pack.

Okay, so I went back and edited my original entry with a second story. Are both stories now qualified for entry? Or should I make two posts to enter them both? Or should I just pick one?

Oh, you can post as many stories as you want, just be sure to flag which one with the /entry. Just in case one of the judges just randomly prioritizes entries, no one has a weighted result.
