Tough question. I’d go with Super Meat Boy. Loved that one- hours of my life stolen by it.

Mine is Braid, awesome puzzles, fluid gameplay, and pretty cool overall. And when you get all the stars and get the bonus, it is pretty deep.

Clarence’s Big Chance is one of my favorite flash games. It just gives me that “feel” of goodness when I play it.

I’m going to go with Cave Story.

As a question, how exactly are you defining the criteria of “indie games”?

I would say Braid. The combination of puzzle elements, Mario throwbacks, and ambiguous plot interpretations made the game an unforgettable experience. My only two gripes are that getting the stars require more patience than I care for and the whole speed run thing seems impossible for me, even though I rarely had problems with any of the puzzles and I’ve completed the game maybe 5-6 times.

Pretty much whatever you think an indoe game is. :P Usually these are programmed by independent developers or small production companies.

what if i already have the game?

You’d win something of equal value.

Bastion hands down. The art style and soundtrack were absolutely incredible. It was also made in XNA which is the same game engine I love to play with. The gameplay was fun and the narration was top notch.

Why settle for Hexagon when you can have…Super Hexagon? (just came out on Steam)

If we’re supposed to pick any indie game (i.e. not on Steam), I pick Jumper 2
