Will the OP of a thread gain the ability to remove posts that are unrelated, or they feel they dislike? I don’t know if it has been suggested, but OPs should have that power.

I’m not sure if giving so much power to every person creating a thread is a good idea; it would make OPs OP. Possible uses of this feature could be negative to the community (ie: people messing with others by deleting their posts). A third party (a forum moderator) is less likely to misuse their power since they’re handpicked by community managers. If a post is inappropriate, it’s possible to inform forum mods by flagging it. On a side note, it’d be better if you posted the suggestion here. Since the thread is stickied, it’ll always stay on top for admins to see.
