I have the money for K+, but I don’t know if it’s even worth it.
I love Kongregate and I want to show my pride :D
Is it worth it? I have Adblock, so it doesn’t matter about “no-ads”.
What’s the best I’m in for?

Getting to make your own private room is always a cool thing, and having profile skins can add a nice touch to your profile if you have an avatar that somewhat matches one of them. I’d just go for it, since it’s really affordable (especially with the PUR pro thing now, it’s half price for those who can get it), and it’s a nice way to support the site.

It’s half off?

If you live in the States, they have a promo where you get K+ when you associate your PowerUp Rewards Pro account with your Kongregate Account.
K+ is definitely worth it, for me. As 123 said, the private rooms make it for me, and everything else is just extra. Profile skins are neat, the 50 kreds you’d get are cool too. Plus no ads and beta access. Faster support on top of that.
It’s a good deal.

I like K+ because while it does include some nice perks for those who want to support Kongregate, it’s not essential. But no “premium membership” should be essential, so that’s great.
If you like Kongregate and want to support it with $30 a year for various perks, I’d highly recommend it. It’s not as much about having profile skins or a private room to me, as it is supporting a site/a business that you spend (potentially) hours on every day.

Custom profile skin is a nice touch, though the selection is very limited. As far as I know users are not able to upload our own skins atm, that’s (maybe) a drawback.
Ads can be blocked with adblocker, though ~99% of ads are OK I guess and at least don’t urge one to vomit at the mere sight of them. Except maybe World of Tanks ad I’m happy I no longer see. :D
What really makes K+ great (at least for me) is the option to browse games in Beta Testing section. There I found at least one potential jewel (Akaneiro), and it’s fun overall .

I find it funny how people get mad when they feel that they need to pay money to get benefits. They get upset because they think that everything should be free.
And then on the other hand, those people get upset when there is something to buy that “isn’t worth it” since it doesn’t give them a ton of benefits over those who don’t pay.
In other words, damn you Kongregate for supporting games that involve spending money to get ahead, and damn you for not giving K+ members who spend money enough benefits to get ahead!

EDIT: This is in no way an attack on anyone in this thread, it’s just that this thread made my mind go on this tangent.

This is overselling it quite a bit, in my honest opinion.
The beta games access is generally mmo/freemium games – you might encounter the occasional decent game (nerdook games, etc) but it’s fairly rare. Profile skins are.. whatever.. how much time do you spend looking at profiles? The 50 kreds are a ‘free bonus’ – you get them with your purchase of K+… but what good are Kreds anyways. They don’t have any value anymore. You used to be able to equate 50 kreds to something like $5… but with Kong’s recent changes, they are actually worthless. (this is why you can’t donate kreds to a developer anymore or use the tipjar)
The Private Chat Rooms are OK, and probably the best feature, but I hardly use mine. There’s not much I chat aboot that can’t be done in public chat or with a few PMs… and honestly, I’ve seen enough of the seediness that goes on behind the scenes within kong that I don’t really want to be a part of it.
If you can do PUR, do that… it’s $15 for that, and they throw K+ in for free with it. A side result of this recent promotion is that it completely negated any actual value of K+. It’s no longer justifiable or ethical for Kongregate to charge $30 for K+. I’m still hoping to hear more from Kong on this.
