Okay so i’m going to do a review of KingsRoad.
I’ve been looking for an RPG for a LONG TIME. I haven’t found anything good for ages, so i was really excited to see that KingsRoad finally ticked all the boxes and had premium features that could (eventually) be earned for free.
The gameplay is simple and solid, with focus on a huge set of skills and passives. You can also change between 3 classes which is also badass (but largely unnecessary in the long run).
The graphics are wonderful. The environments are enriching and beautiful, well worth the lagg. Weapons and armors look gorgeous although the character models are unattractively cartoony.
The sound is also pretty decent with clunks, chunks and great orchestra music.
The best thing about this game is the POSITIVE GAMBLING element using the lockboxes. They just look SO DAMN PRETTY and you want to open them because they make you tingle with excitement. And being in a team doesn’t reduce your chances of getting a box.
…………………………………………………………………………………………..
So with all that being good, what kills it off for me? Well it’s the HUGE IMBALANCE between regular monsters and boss fights. Normal monsters do SOD ALL to you but bosses can kill you in a hit or two, even with a high armoured warrior. This becomes BORING because regular monsters suck ass and will never concern you, yet bosses are overwhelmingly out of your league. And also a lot of monsters look the same and there’s a feeling of repetition even if there isn’t any.
Another aspect that I don’t like is that enemies level up as you do. This almost makes the leveling system seem pointless.
And what is it with this 5 life system, that doesn’t work either. If you die you should be sent back to town with your tail in your mouth.
……………………………………………………………………………………………
Overall this is the best RPG on Kongregate. Multiplayer works really well. It does many things that others like Akanerio (I mean Akanerio didn’t even have healing potions) and cloudstone couldn’t. It’s a virtually bug free perfect RPG if it wern’t for the silly imbalance between reggies and bosses. But if you’ve been looking for that solid RPG that doesn’t take ages to play, then at least this deserves a go.
This game gets a badass rating of 8 / 10.
Now what parts of this review do you agree or disagree with?

……..Overall that’s the best RPG on kong? Have you never played the Mardek series? Mardek RPG is not only the best RPG series on kong, but Mardek 3 is my favorite game on kong. If you haven’t played that series, I suggest you do. Though it is very long, that just means more fun to have!

This game is super linear, you possibly cannot say this is free roaming if there’s LEVELS you go to. Mardek is more freeroaming, this game is NOT.
