[23/12 03:32:49] <sellyme> smitmartijn: Why is everything down?

[23/12 03:33:11] <smitmartijn> 1

[23/12 03:33:12] <hawk> smitmartijn: [tkc / tmc / rank: 41,643,645 / 7,337,750 / 758th] [klp / mclp: 10,105 / 864] [lp: 2012-12-22 17:08:02] [avkps: 0.13] [dj: 2003-02-09] [Country: Netherlands] [hp: http://www.facebook.com/njitramsmit]

[23/12 03:33:21] <smitmartijn> does that seem like everything’s down?

[23/12 03:33:44] <sellyme> Not really, but beta., jmrk., *., and the main site are all down for me.

[23/12 03:33:51] <sellyme> As well as my girlfriend, and isup.me

[23/12 03:34:07] <sellyme> And pulsing times out.

[23/12 03:34:13] <sellyme> The site isn’t responding to ping

[23/12 03:35:32] <smitmartijn> because they all listen to 2 ips which i have blocked because the database is doing stuff

[23/12 03:35:48] <sellyme> Any idea on an ETA?

[23/12 03:35:52] <smitmartijn> and as a sidenote, i removed jmrk.*

[23/12 03:35:57] <sellyme> Oh, okie dokie

[23/12 03:36:43] <smitmartijn> not sure, 44GB left, doing about 15MB/s

[23/12 03:38:25] <sellyme> ~50 minutes then

Not sure if it’s just me, but I’m not able to access the WhatPulse website, probably because they’re overloaded with traffic right now. Also, is it required to upgrade to 2.0, or just recommended (also, what difference does it really make), because if it’s not required, I might not bother for a while.

It’s not required per se, but it’s really really heavily recommended.

No, I haven’t been able to pulse from this computer for over a month. The site hasn’t been down for over a month.

I believe that adv0catus was referring to 123aaa789 and just as general knowledge. Your problem could be the cause of a firewall.

The website is back up (possibly temporarily, get in quick).

I’m first by downloads and uploads, second for uptime~

Alrighty then.

Now the pulses time out saying I’m either not connected to the internet or need to change ports. I changed the port and it can’t connect to the server.

Huh, that’s strange. Try joining #pulse on irc.whatnet.org and chat with the developer about it. I’ve kind of lost touch with the bugs with WhatPulse.

Kongregate team is now 1st by uploads/downloads/uptime, 6th by keys, and 10th by clicks. First three are solely me, so let’s try to keep it that way when the DPC find out about 2.0.

what does upgrading do to help?

It gives you way more statistics, and makes you significantly less likely to be banned for cheating (1.7 has several exploits, which is why you can go back to using it after pulsing from 2.0).

[4:04 AM] Sellyme: Second by downloads, first by uploads, second by uptime.
[4:58 AM] Sellyme: Now I’m 4th;2nd;2nd
[5:49 AM] Sellyme: 8th by downloads (5GB), 4th by uploads (651MB), 5th by uptime (2h12m)
[6:40 AM] Sellyme: 9th (6.81GB), 7th (855MB), 5th (2h49m)

Europeans and Americans have annoyingly fast internet, I’m maxing out my connection :/

I’ve downloaded it and still says I’m on 1.7

Are you sure you ran 2.0 from the correct install directory? If installed as default it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\WhatPulse2\

I fix’d it.

Does anyone know what happened to the Dutch Power Cows? They were ranked first for ages, but now they’re not even among the top teams. Either way, we’re now 4th because of that!

Hm, weird. o_o (but awesome team name)
Could they have changed the name? Maybe merged with another team?
That’s odd though, if someone knows they should share.

Kong-rats on 4th, guys!

I think there was a glitch due to the size of the team, where it completely disbanded every user. They’re not particularly happy about it over on their forums

DPC team is being restored via the database, this may cause the website to be slow and unresponsive.

Theory:

I think they we all actually inactive but they had set wp to pulse @ blahblah day @ blahblah time. That’s why they were still going strong. Now they’ve not updated been banned. Or they’ve gotten lives. Or they’ve just stopped computing.

Or you just skipped over selly’s two posts above.

EDIT so as not to create a double post:

I downloaded WhatPulse 2.0 and got it working (a small miracle in itself for me), but it’s not tracking my uploads/downloads.

Version 2.0 monitors your network interfaces, and keeps a count of how much data you have downloaded and uploaded. Every page/video/file you download/upload increases these statistics.

I’m pretty sure the US won’t be in the top 3 for long, with our monthly data caps and such…

Oh..
Any other benefits to 2.0? don’t really feel like going and updating all my comps to 2.0

I dont know what monthly caps you are talking about bro… unless it like mobile. Most places don’t have them.

With 2.0, you also get heatmaps showing your keyboard and mouse usage, you can see which applications use the most data, see your computer uptime and reboot history, and see which applications you use the most. It also has a pretty interface that looks nearly identical all Operating Systems.

It’s really cool, you should give it a shot.

EDIT: The monthly caps I was referring to are the download/upload limits that American ISPs are imposing on their customers. Most of the big ones have a 150-250 GB upload/download limit.

My service provider charges $1 per gigabyte over the limit.

Probably won’t be 6th for download much longer, my connection has inexplicably been limited to 250KB/s, when I was getting about 900KB/s. I’ll still be maxing it out 24/7, but it’s kind of annoying because I had 150GB of stuff queued, and Majestic-12 is actually hitting bandwidth limits :/
