Welcome one and all to The Swordsmith’s Guild! Here we will talk about how being a swordsmith is so much better than making dull axes, wimpy bows, and meager maces. Swordsmith’s are the only true heart of the medieval world! Swordsmith’s unite!

This is an introductory thread (for Swordmsiths) to the Dragon Age: Journey’s Event that has been released to Kongregate. You can find out more about how you can become a Swordsmith (or one of those other weapons) right HERE.

What are the benefits of being a swordsmith you may ask?

-You always stay sharp.
-You can cut vegetables.
-Orc steak.
-The cool unsheathing sound.
-Use it as a mirror, or as a fire starter.
-One step closer to being a ninja.
-You get to say things like ‘Enguarde’, ‘Touché’, and ‘My name is Inigo Montoya.’

Why swords are better: In my opinion, the most well-rounded weapon in gaming history. Light enough to remain mobile with, yet in the hands of a master, a swift, powerful, and deadly strike. The optimal weapon, in my eyes.

Well, I currently am trying to slay a few Ogres. Using the sword gives me a huge advantage, due to the fact that I can strike swiftly and powerfully, as stated before. Those bows are far too inferior, since you do not have enough space to evade.

Yet one more guild for dedicated swordsmiths, I see :) .

Surely there is no need for us swordsmiths to argue amongst ourselves, as we can just pretend the guilds have their headquarters in different towns and they are working together. And traveling smiths can be a part of both guilds depending on where they set up their forge for one week or another.

Now then, let us see:

Medieval name: Moon

Origin: A city Elf who has taken the path of the Rogue, and has become a smith to help his fellow Elves should they need a good blade to survive in this Humans’ world.

Why swords are better: They are easier to handle than axes or maces, and short swords and daggers can be concealed more easily than bows (especially since a city Elf carrying a weapon will draw the Humans’ attention). They allow for much more elegant and elaborate fighting styles than the other weapon types. They can be used just as effectively for a duel or an assassination ;) . And last of all, they fit with the Elven tradition.

Welcome to the guild, Moon. Your expertise in sword smithing and use is greatly appreciated.

I believe the most useful faction of smiths are mace smiths. My reasoning is as follows.

There are the least number of mace smiths in all the realm of Kongregate.
Less mace smiths mean less maces.
There for the demand for maces is increased.
Because of this you are more likely to find a trader.

I make maces, but only 3 a day. c:

And you know what’s funny? swordsmiths are the most common, yet I don’t own a sword yet. XD
