Current Beta Games:
• We’re extremely excited about this one! This game is completely exclusive to Kongregate and we’ve been working closely with the developers to help them bring a game that’s gonna knock your socks off! Vorp! (yes, with the exclamation point, because it’s just that awesome) is a new Sci-Fi MOBA (think DotA, League of Legends) that features high speed battles with big explosions and some awesomely diverse ships.
They’re hoping to go to open beta very soon, but wanted to get some more people in it first to test the servers. Hence, you (if you’re level 10 or higher!) get a sneak peak. Check it out now, and if you come soon some of the game developers will still be in the chat room to hang out and meet the players. :)

[The way these work is that everyone who was at the level requirement at the time of opening the beta will have access. If you get up to the level later you won’t get to test the game (but will be ready for future betas!). However, if you have any other problems with the beta games definitely let us know here.]

So, while we’ve run Remnants of Skystone and Battle: Realms at War for a little while now, new today is Heroes of Kung Fu. Test it out if you’re level 25 or higher!
Also, we’re planning on adding one more beta later today, so check back to see what it is! :)
A quick survey: are you more likely to notice this if it’s stickied or if it gets bumped in the regular threads? I know I’m bad about recognizing updates in sticky threads, but perhaps most people are better at navigating forums than me. I’m thinking I’ll leave it normal for a few days and then maybe sticky it later.
By the way, in case anyone is wondering, the levels are chosen based on how large of a group we want testing that game. So it’s not that Battle: Realms at War is particularly “reserved” for our highest-level players, but more that we’re starting smaller in our test pool with them. Some of these games will get lower beta levels over time (like Remnants of Skystone has done), but many will just jump to a live release after a successful beta. Either way, you can get a head start on the opposition if you go ahead and start your character/empire. :)

Awesome. This is a great thread, I didn’t even know about Heroes of Kong Fu until just now. :O
EDIT: Meep, sorry if I interrupted.

No worries – I just wanted to get a few reserved posts in. You’re good now. And yeah, HoKF was just released, oh, about 3 minutes before you posted that. :)

Bumping when there’s an update would be good, so we know when something changes, but sticking it would make it so we could see the beta games all the time, since you know once something goes off the first page it’s like it never existed (Where are the Kongai Cards/challenges? threads).

I’m thinking I’ll sticky and keep a “last updated” date in the title. Because people are going to want this info even when there’s not a recent update.

Wow, this should really help, I’ve already been playing RoS and BRaW, maybe I’ll try out the other soon.

Well if you do sticky it, you can get rid of “The Official” in the title, it’ll be obvious without it. :P

I would like to try out the realms of war one(dang level requirement).
Also, I agree with others in saying that it would be more noticable if stickied.

Ok, suggestions taken. It is now stickied and includes the newest game to be released in the title.

Cool thread, I like the idea of this topic. But I think there are too many stickies in the Kongregate forum.

You can test any game that you meet the current level criteria for, so you can test RoS right now.

Battle Dawn was just added, also for level 25+. See the original post for the link and description.
EDIT: Battle Dawn was removed due to a bug. Hopefully it can be added again, in working order, tomorrow.

Thanks kioyoh – looks like the permissions didn’t go through. I’m updating now. Apologies for that! Please let me know if it still doesn’t work now.

So, I can beta test a RPG, a RPG, a RPG, or a RPG… I think I’ll pass.

I don’t really think that there are really any other types of games that would need a major beta test like this, though there are some games which are in beta, but not officially on the site (such as Run 2).

Most MMO’s are RPG’s….
Nice thread idea Phoenix. A date last updated would be nice in the title.

Plus, each of these RPGs is a very different genre. RPG has come to mean games with growth and stats over time. If you want me to make them sound less like all RPGs, I’d say there’s a dungeon crawler, a dueling game, a side-scrolling beat-em-up, and a 4X empire building game.
In any case, glad to hear these are working. Can any verify if Battle Dawn is functional? It works for me, but another user reported a problem trying to log in.

I think this one isn’t needed anymore, really.
