Bringing out a rather glitchy, old game… which I find badge-deserving.

Corporation Inc. [current rating: 4.17]

Obtain your first cat by hiring 20 employees
[ ] 20 employees hired — NOTE: At the moment, the API does not support this badge, but if the game were to get badges, it most likely could get a stat for this.

Turn your simple button-pressing company into a massive international success by completing all 32 objectives on any difficulty

Changing the World One Press at a Time Badge (hard ~ 30 points)

Corporation Inc. doesn’t save. So… I don’t think it’s a good idea to force everyone to do the game in one sitting.

Did they remove the ability to save? Because I know it used to, but the problem was that the save would be corrupted from time to time.

Also, that wouldn’t be a long badge to do in one sitting even if you can’t save. Admittedly I’ve had a lot of practice at the same, but my best hard difficulty finish time is 171 hours, which isn’t a long time in real time.

The only suggestion I’d make would be to add a time limit to hard difficulty for the hard badge. Otherwise completing it on hard is just another medium badge since you’re inevitably going to beat it.

A lot of people have been complaining about save issues lately. Did Adobe, Mozilla, Microsoft, or Google, or someone, screw up Flash’s ability to save in general? Because I’m starting to think this isn’t the fault of the devs, and that a lot of Kongregate users owe them to take back a whole lot of 1 star ratings.

So simply add a note on the badges to don’t use the save function.

(Yeah, I know it’s not that simple, if there was no save function at all, it probably would already have badges, but having a save function that doesn’t always works just makes it worse.)

Normally I’d object a glitchy game receiving badges (and I still do), but it should be pointed out that both AU3, and then BTD5 got badges despite having glitches. So I see no reason that Corporation Inc. shouldn’t.

I’m hanging out for badges on Hexagon still.
It seems to have gathered a bit of a cult following since it’s rating has gradually increased from 3.5 to now just under 3.9, and now it even has (a very cool) mobile port.

Easy badge for 10 seconds, Hard badge for 120.

Yeah I think they missed the boat on Hexagon. If only they’d badged it when I first suggested it, waaaay back on page 266. Moral of the story: Listen to Lou.

So, I see that Race the Sun now has API. I think that’s as good a reason as any to recommend some Unity badges.

I second you uzzbuzz, Spikes Tend To Kill You 2 is an amazing game.
But I think maybe 5mins is too hard for the impossible because only 2 people have managed under 5:00 so far.

Actually, 9 have. For whatever reason, it records 5:00 as 500 instead of 300 in the API. And to Uzz, Maistlin’s 2:47 is the best legitimate score.

Need I remind people again that the difficulty of badges should not be based on the very best scores? An impossible badge should be extremely hard for the average player, not for the very best player.

When I made that suggestion, I did so with input from players more skilled at STTKY2 than I am. While that biased the recommended time toward the most skilled players, it is worth noting any sort of impossible-caliber speedrun should require a high level of execution, beyond what most players will be capable of doing. For the moment, at least, I wouldn’t really change that requirement.

It would probably be easier to find a balance between execution and general accessibility with more completion times; a possible solution would be to add just the game completion (hard) badge first. This would encourage more plays and provide more data regarding completion times than currently exists. Unfortunately, a lot of the top times would probably be hacked, but it should make clearer the ideal time for the impossible badge.

Speed-run badges in general are terrible.
