Is there a specific reason that Relic of War only received the one easy badge? I just beat the allied missions and I really think it could do with some more badges. Also, Knightmare Tower!!!

Grain of Truth is the sequel to Trader of Stories, which was previously badged. Although it currently lacks API, the devs are still paying close attention to the game, and would presumably be willing to implement it. The game was released fairly recently (June), so I’m starting the list with it.

Gateway I (current rating: 3.99)

Something Wired This Way Comes Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Complete the game.
[ ] Game complete

.
.

Gateway II (current rating: 4.14)

Sex, Lies, and Videotape Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Obtain the first tape.
[ ] First tape obtained

Schrödinger’s Catharsis Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Piece together what happened.
[ ] Game complete

.

The Gateway games originally didn’t have API, which is probably why they were originally passed over for badges. But they have API now, and they remain two of the best games in the genre.

Hetherdale (current rating: 3.89)

It Was a Dark and Stormy Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Make it through a rainy night.
[ ] Day one complete

Wall Mark It Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Complete the second day.
[ ] Day two complete

Raiders of the Lost Dark Badge (hard ~ 30 points)
Finish your adventure in the lost city of Hetherdale.
[ ] Game complete

.

Nick Toldy and Morningstar have both been badged; it seems only appropriate to finish off the dev’s point-and-click troika, especially considering it has a good rating and sufficient API.

Finally, we come to the preeminent point-and-click series. On the surface, it seems strange that the Submachine games haven’t been badged—unfortunately, this is probably largely due to limited API for some games, and no API at all for others. That said, Submachine is a big deal—big enough that it would make sense to try to get the developer to add or update API. It was mentioned a few months ago that badging the series at once might make sense as an event—a Submachine Week—and I personally think this would be a good idea, especially since Sub 8 is apparently coming out in September.

.

Submachine 1: the basement (current rating: 3.91) [no API?]

To the Lighthouse Badge (medium ~ 15 points)

Submachine 2: the lighthouse (current rating: 3.81)

A Light in the Attic Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Finish the game.
[ ] Game complete (best so far: )

Collect all 20 secrets, then complete the game.
[ ] 20 Secrets collected (best so far: )

.

Submachine 3: the loop (current rating: 3.66) [no API]

A Leaf of Faith Badge (medium ~ 15 points)

Finish the game with the bad ending.
[ ] Bad ending achieved (best so far: )

I think Decision 2 is ready for badges. It has high rating, API, already being suggested and very popular

Here’s my suggestion

Today I Dine With Massacre Present (Easy ~ 5 points)
Kill 100 zombies

Urban Scout Navigation (Medium ~ 15 points)
Reckon all 6 areas
Reckoned areas don’t need to be captured

Know Your Weapon (Medium ~ 15 points)
Fully master 2 different weapons

A Sanctuary of One Man (Hard ~ 30 points)
Reach 100% completion
To reach 100% completion, you need to hold all areas, fully upgrade their towers and factories and keep danger level low enough

Not sure if API supports all of my suggestions but I wish it does

There should be a Zombieland reference for one of the badges. For example,

Rule 2: Double Tap (Easy)
Kill X Zombies

Where are the Twinkies? (Medium)
Complete X missions/areas, or something

Don’t Be a Hero (Hard?)
Complete the game

Flag Post

Kingdom of Liars 1 (current rating: 3.67)

Sure Lock Holmes Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Open the elaborately trapped warehouse door and complete your investigation.
[ ] Game complete (best so far: )

Decision 2.

Easy: Save $2,500.
Medium: Kill 10 bosses.
Medium: Get all the towers.
Hard: Get 100% completion.

I suck at names. :(

Bringing out a rather glitchy, old game… which I find badge-deserving.

Corporation Inc. [current rating: 4.17]

I ♥ Cats Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Obtain your first cat by hiring 20 employees
[ ] 20 employees hired — NOTE: At the moment, the API does not support this badge, but if the game were to get badges, it most likely could get a stat for this.

Corporation Success Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Turn your simple button-pressing company into a massive international success by completing all 32 objectives on any difficulty
[ ] Game completed (any difficulty)

Changing the World One Press at a Time Badge (hard ~ 30 points)
Complete all 32 objectives on hard difficulty
[ ] Game completed (hard difficulty)

Corporation Inc. doesn’t save. So… I don’t think it’s a good idea to force everyone to do the game in one sitting.

Did they remove the ability to save? Because I know it used to, but the problem was that the save would be corrupted from time to time.

Also, that wouldn’t be a long badge to do in one sitting even if you can’t save. Admittedly I’ve had a lot of practice at the same, but my best hard difficulty finish time is 171 hours, which isn’t a long time in real time.

The only suggestion I’d make would be to add a time limit to hard difficulty for the hard badge. Otherwise completing it on hard is just another medium badge since you’re inevitably going to beat it.

Flag Post

A lot of people have been complaining about save issues lately. Did Adobe, Mozilla, Microsoft, or Google, or someone, screw up Flash’s ability to save in general? Because I’m starting to think this isn’t the fault of the devs, and that a lot of Kongregate users owe them to take back a whole lot of 1 star ratings.

Flag Post

Frick, it’s been like that for a really long time.

Flag Post

So simply add a note on the badges to don’t use the save function.

(Yeah, I know it’s not that simple, if there was no save function at all, it probably would already have badges, but having a save function that doesn’t always works just makes it worse.)

Flag Post

Normally I’d object a glitchy game receiving badges (and I still do), but it should be pointed out that both AU3, and then BTD5 got badges despite having glitches. So I see no reason that Corporation Inc. shouldn’t.

I’m hanging out for badges on Hexagon still.
It seems to have gathered a bit of a cult following since it’s rating has gradually increased from 3.5 to now just under 3.9, and now it even has (a very cool) mobile port.

Easy badge for 10 seconds, Hard badge for 120.

Flag Post

Yeah I think they missed the boat on Hexagon. If only they’d badged it when I first suggested it, waaaay back on page 266. Moral of the story: Listen to Lou.

Reposting for all that is good.

I still wonder what happened when most of the hot new games about 1½ months ago didn’t get badges.

-Tezuila Zombies 2,
-Flood Runner 4 and
-Awesome Tanks 2

They are the first I remember. Also, Cargo Bridge 2 came out 26 days ago.

Bumping another of Prec’s suggestions:

Spikes Tend to Kill You 2 (current rating: 3.61)

Exit, Pursued by a Square Badge (hard ~ 30 points)
Finish the game.
[ ] Game complete (best so far: )

Non-Euclidean Chronology Badge (impossible ~ 60 points)
Complete the game in 5 minutes or less.
[ ] Game complete in 5:00 (best so far: )

Flag Post

I second you uzzbuzz, Spikes Tend To Kill You 2 is an amazing game.
But I think maybe 5mins is too hard for the impossible because only 2 people have managed under 5:00 so far.

Flag Post

Actually, 9 have. For whatever reason, it records 5:00 as 500 instead of 300 in the API. And to Uzz, Maistlin’s 2:47 is the best legitimate score.
