Before you jump on me to post this in the “Suggestions” sticky, this suggestion is well thought out and worked on, and I believe it’s better for it to have it’s own thread.

You know how Dino Run has milestones and such? Well, what if Kongregate had milestones too?

What I’m proposing is the implementation of a “Milestones” system into Kongregate. This would be sort of like badges, except it’s more of a personal reward.

Every time you reach a certain point in your Kongregate statistics, you should get a medal. Everytime you get a medal, you should get 10 points, and the medal itself. Your medals will be available to view from your profile. Now, here are some examples of medals.

500 points:

Now, here are some medals that I’m thinking of:

I honestly don’t know how many badges there are, so this could be changed :P.

5 cards

10 cards

20 cards

There could be special medals, such as:

Kongai Beta – This could be if you were invited into the Kongai Beta

There could also be developer medals, such as:

Made a game – If you uploaded a game

Made 2 games

Made 3 games

Made 4 games

Made 5 games

Made a 3-star average game – If you uploaded a game that has a 3-star or above average.

There could be referral medals:

Referred 1 person

Referred 2 people

3 people

4 people

5 people

10 people

20 people

Kongai Medals:

Win 10 Games

Win 20 Games

Win 30 Games

Win 40 Games

Win 50 Games

Reach Level 5

Reach Level 10

Reach Level 15

Reach Level 20

Reach Skill Rank 5

Reach Skill Rank 10

Reach Skill Rank 15

Reach Skill Rank 20

Obtain 10 cards

Obtain 15 cards

Obtain 20 cards

Obtain 30 cards

There could also be medals for the amount of time you’ve been on Kongregate (I was originally going to add this but I forgot, thanks Derverk for reminding me!)

I would be happy to make the medals for all those. It’s not that hard.

I think its a decent idea. But that is kinda what badges and cards are though.

As of now, there are 308 badges, 288 of them I have, while the rest of them seem damn impossible.

Big question. Are there going to be points for this? Because I think that right now there needs to be a non-referring way to get to at lest lvl 40. Putting too much emphasis on referrals really hurts the internet as a whole.

Create a inovating briliant site that everybody love it and then start creating referrals link.

There should def not be points added becuase it is redundant. And there are plenty of ppl who get to level 40 without haveing many referrals. I’m 37 and only have like 4 referrals.

In my post, I said that each milestone should get you 10 points. Although ultimately, it’s the staff’s decision.

Sorry, but I’m going to have to go with a thumbs down for this idea. I appreciate that you took the time to present it in a organized and thoughtful manner, Trillion, but it is a redundant achievement system. After this is implemented, couldn’t someone just suggest that there be “trophies” (to use another word other than “badge” or “milestone”) awarded for getting 5 milestones, 10 milestones, etc?

Nowhere did I EVER state that I wanted this done NOW. In fact, nowhere did I state that I expect this to be done at all. I said if the staff sees it and implements it. It’s a suggestion, not a demand.

I know it isn’t a demand. If it WAS a demand it would be completely destroyed by EVERYONE. I am just saying that it could be a very, very long time before we could expect to see this feature EVER implemented. So it is sort-of useless to be talking about it right now.

Okay, I see your point. I agree that this will probably take a long time to be added, if it ever is. It doesn’t bother me much, though.

I’d have to agree with JudeMaverick, although(I’m not sure if someone has mentioned this so far, but…) I think there is a thread almost EXACTLY like this somewhere…

Actually… my point was that there was no reason to give rewards for having X number of points, to then reward you with more points. I have no issue with these rewards giving you points… but there should not be rewards for points. As someone else said, it is redundant. Other than that, seems cool. Then again, I pretty much already meet the vast majority of your proposed milestones.

I suppose it wouldn’t really hurt but at the same time the question is, do we really need it? I mean, like some people already stated this looks just like doubling over the levels, points and badges system we have at the moment. Like, if we have this than someone will suggest “hey let’s have something, we could call it ‘masteries’ for things like having a certain number of milestones” or something along the lines…
