While I (like most of Kong. I imagine) enjoy getting 2 or 3 cards a week as apposed to one, I feel that this recent change is one of poor choice which was simply made to appease the many people who began to complain about the few amount of cards they had, or for some other reason, it doesn’t really matter. I think that the full flooding of cards in the past week has completely contradicted the reasons that players were only given a 3% chance of getting a card after a win. (Which many, even myself, was prompt to bark about.)
But my main objections to the 5 cards currently being available is that at one point these cards were a reward which people often were willing to wait a full week to get, or even try to get. And even though I haven’t played much of Kongai since the first week of it’s release I still enjoyed the expectation and excitement of beating the weekly challenges. It is when I just now clicked the link to Kongregate and thought to myself “I wonder if there is another card” that I felt disappointed in Kong. for changing it’s ways so suddenly.
Though admittedly I am a man very much of habit I still would like to know if others wish to have the old system of one card per week challenges.
edit: and yeah I messed the punctuation in the title |

Nope, pretty happy with the way they made it. It is a step toward closing the gap between the “haves” and “have nots” that is often characteristic of CCGs. |

Just wait until the new sets are out. Then we’ll see these “Haves” and “have nots.” |

True, I assume you mean in the form of new players who didn’t get the old cards? |

The way I personally see it:
One card a week was great before the game came out. It allowed people to build up their decks slowly, and if you didn’t collect them it wasnt a huge deal, the game wasn’t out.
Now that the game is out, certain people who otherwise would not have collected cards have decided that they love the game, and others who were collecting aren’t as stoked as they thought they might be. We just want the people who really love the game to be able to build a decent collection in a reasonable amount of time. At one card a week it would take the better part of a year to collect every card, and that’s just incredibly unrealistic to expect of the players. |

well i havent been able to get all the cards every week so i feel that they should cut back from 2-3 a week(sry about complaining about too little cards and not too many cards :P) to mabey 2 a week.or, they could make a system of every 50 wins, u get a card. or something along those lines. i do think that we need more than 1 a week to keep players striving, but more than 2 a week just ruins their ability to even play kongai, because they’re spending all of their free time on getting the cards, so that they wont miss them! a solution that i think would be great is have all of the card chalanges permenent. tis may seem unfiting, but it would give ppl more time to explore the oter parts of kongregate.and i also agree with damijin, when he said that missing a card a week wasnt a big deal when tha game wasn’t out, but now that it is, we need to give the players time to collect, and grow their deck. and also the perma chalange idea would help new members get used to the way kongregate runs. also with the perma chalange idea, we should bring back all of the cards that have been desplayed already. |

This is the important part.
If you actually like playing Kongai, then what OP wants sucks for anyone who hasn’t already been visiting Kongregate for ages. That’s a Very Bad Thing.
While I would like to see some “specialness” added back to challenges, I would rather it be in ways that don’t hose people on gameplay. Stuff like my idea of alternate-art cards for hard challenges.

Actually it’s the opposite; new players can’t build a decent deck, so they don’t play at all, and either just do challenges for awhile or quit altogether. |

We’ve actually been wanting to do this for a long time; we just wanted a way to be able to feature both challenge games at once. |

I don’t so much mind the flood of challenges so much as the fact that so many are pathetically easy. In the past challenges were sometimes actually challenging. They also required you to play the game long enough to gain at least some familiarity. There were a couple that took me a few days to complete.
Now it seems like “feh, you started a game, here’s your card.” |

1) The challenges are reeeeally quick and reeeeally easy to get. I doubt people spend more than an hour per week on challenges.
2) The entire purpose for Kongai on Kongregate is to encourage players to play other games. If people are spending their time on challenges instead of Kongai, Kongai is doing it’s job perfectly.

The problem with that is the fact that players who just want to play Kongai then have to jump through hoops to play Kongai. By leaving the challenges easy, the players are subtly introduced to new games and aren’t forced to spend an inordinate amount of time on a game they don’t really want to play. |

The challenges SHOULD be easy. Let’s imagine that a player starts a challenge, gets the card, then immediately quits the game forever. If that’s the case, he probably didn’t like the game and would be rightfully PISSED OFF if he was expected to play it any longer. There have been several challenge games that I thought were forks-in-my-eyeballs awful (Age of War, Pandemic II, Thing-Thing 4) that thankfully only forced me to play them for a small amount of time before I could get my card, rate it a 1 and never think about it again. |

Maybe every 50 (arbitrary number) points you get you get a random card? Or just put some really hard challenges in, where there is a chance to get a card? Since you could only do it once, new players could get cards faster, but then the rate of earning them would decrease quickly over time. |

Something tells me that when the new decks arrive, Friday’s Card Challenge would be for the new deck, while Tuesday’s Card Challenge would be for the R2 cards.
Sounds good, no?
Oh, and Nyuki? Dazzer has had that avatar for a really long time. And technically one’s a GIF while the other’s not, so… |

I’m not sure the new sets will be available at the time the R1 challenges will be over. We will probably wait few months before we will see the new card challenges. At least that’s what I heard. |

I like the new challenges. More things for me to write walkthroughs for. Also, something that I can be anticipating through the week. |

i think the “after a certain amount of wins you get a card” because the randomness is slightly unfair, i got a card after my first game and i havent gotten one after another 50 wins.
EDIT: yes i guess that is a little off topic. |

I want the old way back or make all card challanges permantant, so the people who play Kongai would be based on skill, because they’d all have the same cards. I don’t like Kongai, but I still do the card challanges. |

And that make his avatar?, I have this avatar since the first 10 minutes that I signed up in kong. Also the fact that is GIF dont make “him” avatar, or just for “long time”. It has to do more with about who knows more about or who likes this more or other things… but anyways while nobody ask me to change my avatar, my name or other thing just because he has that, I am ok with this.
Or maybe you are saying that his avatar is better… just explain it because I could understand this for what you said. |

How the hell was he going to know that was YOUR avatar? Did you want him go and search everyone’s profile to see if the avatar he wanted to use had any similarities what so every other avatar on the site?
You aren’t exactly the most visible person on earth, with 3 posts and all, 2 in this thread. |

I am a very reserved person. I like reading more than writing. that But I also didn’t say something that he meant to annoy me or about “he needs to change his avatar”. I said that I am ok with it and also happy.
I think you are misunderstanding something or overreacting. And you dont need to remark on the fact that I am reserved. |

I’m just wondering how you can call someone for copying your avatar when most likely he did not even know you exist. |
