Good? Bad? Weigh in.
Keep in mind that if I hadn’t done this week, there’d probably be badges in an extra game or two with a higher rating, like Arcane and/or Scope: First Blood.
Also, feel free to post which 5 games you would have picked!

5/5 for not putting badges on those games. I’m assuming Coil doesn’t have API? |
Greg, I liked buried treasure week. Even though the games weren’t the best, they weren’t bad either (and I personally have never seen any of them before). I vote yes. |
i think you made fine choices, because i wouldnt have wanted to sift through those games to find the treasure games, but overall they were pretty good, the parachute one frustrated me like no other, but the game today was amazing. i think ill look around kongregate more, because i never notice those kind of unique games honestly, we need to have more weeks like this maybe less games in a row, because one a day can be tough on people that are busy, but its a needed idea, because in the newgrounds thread, it said newgrounds makes getting your game noticed easier even if it isnt in the top games, so this feature will fix that problem, but probably more user input next time |
I enjoyed BTW for a couple of reasons: -20 points per ftw! -The games were different, not something you’d usually play, which is fun. Overall I give it a 5/5. |
I thought all of the games were totally awesome and I especially thank you for choosing the final game; I totally missed it first time around but it is definitely 5-star quality in my opinion! All in all, great idea for a theme-week and I hope to see more in the future. |
Nor a high rating. :-P I’m still going to add badges to those games, but they’re just delayed a bit, which basically pushes everything else back a week too, except for normal challenges. |
and just wondering, do these points have something to do with the premium games, and is there anywhere that tells us our total points? edit- btw, to carados… ive played this before, but it glitched on me, and probably would frustrate and gross out many people, i see the art in it… just not badgeworthy |
Greg, it was awesome. This was the best week on Kongregate for me since the “old Lair” broke up. Some of the better rated games may not get badges as quickly, but with two card challenges this week two good games still got badges. Which for a while there we only got two new badge games a week anyway. Underdog week(still calling it that!)=mega win |
It was OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Good times greg. I love how the old point challenges were brought back for all the old timers. While everyone that wasn’t around for them gets to check out how awesome they really are. The banner was pure awesomesauce. Overall buried treasure week was pwnsome. |
Buried treasure week was amazing :D I’m not going to get used to only getting ~8 badges a week instead of 14+ badges plus extra challenges. I recommend having another :D |
I like it. It does give us a better understanding of certain games and those that weren’t featured and all, makes us remember classic games. |
Buried Treasure week was one of the most if not the most enjoyable weeks that I have ever had on Kongregate. I loved the concept of allowing slightly less popular games to have a second chance in the spotlight and I agreed with most of your decisions, that being said I left comments in the underdog thread with a few others that could be used for a week like this in the future. Needless to say I hope you don’t make this a one time thing, I would have loved it even without the point challenges and badges, but those extra things just put it over the top. |
Same. It would be great to have a special week every few months or so. |
I absolutely loved it, I really hope you continue to do this in the future. It was a very fun week, and it gave us a chance to earn quite a few extra points. :D |
jtmb’s games are 10/10, keep it up, the week was good. |
good call greg, need MOARbut like differnt stuff, each month of the year one week is something new |
I had fun, got to play some good games I might’ve not found on my own, and even got a nice load of points. All in all, it was good. |
I really liked the games, I have never heard of these games yet they are addicting. I don’t really have games which have API but does not have badges/cards yet. I only know those without API. |
The week brought to the limelight some special games that meant either quite a bit to do developer, or games which are just so interesting to play at times. It is a good idea and I definitely look forward to more themed weeks! |

I think this is the most successful event you’ve ever done, Greg, seriously. All of these games, with, in my opinion, the exception of Dog Eat Dog, were excellent. They were true buried treasures, and I sincerely thank you for providing me with such an excellent experience during this week, along with a big hand full o’ badges/points (roughly 220 points!). I think it was VERY AWESOME, and I would definitely encourage one of these semi/bimonthly (which one?)...as a matter of fact, 10/10, greg. Games I would have picked 1. Monochrome – that one was REALLY GOOD. 2. Electric2HSman or whatever it was called – that one really deserved it. 3. Boomshine – Yea, that one was pretty good, I guess. 4. Space Defenders (NO, NOT SPACE INVADERS, SPACE DEFENDERS) Completely overlooked. 5. GlueFO – Yea, that one was on the front page, but it WAS kinda overlooked. |
I only liked Cirplosion and The Last Canopy, the other three games were trash (and are all under 3/5 rating). So I’m all for this if you keep the games over 3/5 at least… |
Honestly, none of the games got badges this week were good, but since i am not a staff, i can do nothing about it. |

+2 ;) |
