Am I authorized to submit a game updated as a new one ? discussion on Kongregate

Hi, I’ve uploaded a game which is in fact a major update of a previously uploaded game. I’ve done this because I would like to view reaction and ratings to the updated game. But I’m not sure I am authorized to do so. The new game is not yet published so I can still cancel it.

Unless you’ve made major changes (I think Pretty Pretty Bang Bang: Remix is a good example of that), then we’d prefer updating the old version. You can post about the improvements you’ve made in this thread (different from Hadii’s):

Also, only admins can see games in preview states, and when a game is published, they’re currently sorted by when they entered a preview state. In other words, if you have a game in a preview state for a day or two and you hit “publish” after that, the game probably won’t show up on the first page of “latest games.” We’re going to change this system to sort by publication dates, but until then, it’s probably best to delete and re-upload games that have been in a preview state for a day or so.

If its the same game I dont see why you should create clutter on the site with anew update. Thats what the update feature is for. Once your game is updated you dont have need for the old one anyway.

If u have like a 100 more levels then it would be neccesary to upload a new one then or maybe like 50 new levels..

Thx, In fact I’ve made major improvements from the first submittion. it was 115 levels and there are 138 levels now. And the graphics has been improved a lot in my opinion. The other problem is that the title of the first game is “Capsules 115 levels”. I don’t mind to update the game but can someone change the title to “Capsules” instead of “Capsules 115 levels” ?

Lol, or perhaps a better naming convention for future releases…

I tend to agree with Arcane on his clutter-free stance, since there’s no reason to have two versions of the same game.
