Is it fair that people who have been on kong a long time keep all of their 5-point rated game bonuses? I see people that are level 20+, but the mojority of their points is due to 5-point rated game bonuses, which I assume Kong gave them out before, then stopped before I even registered. But is it fair that I can’t get bonuses like that and it is that much harder for newcomers to reach those higher levels? If all of my rated-game bonuses were worth 5 points, I would easily be levels higher.

Rating games gave 5 points? Naah. |
Yes. It’s a reward for being an early tester; particularly when the site didn’t have nearly as many great things on it then as it does now. This was discussed when it was changed and I wouldn’t expect the veterans to have their points removed. That would be unfair. |

Maybe there should be a 5 point rating bonus for Kong’s anniversary. Just a thought. |

Kongregate doesn’t arbitrarily take away points. You earned those points under those conditions, and you can trust that any points you earn aren’t going to be suddenly taken away further down the line. When they decided that rating games gave you too many points, they changed the number of points you got from rating games, and left it at that. Similarly, when they changed the Last Stand impossible badge to a Hard one, they didn’t take 30 points off everyone who had already got the badge. In contrast, if you have been deprived of points you should have got under the current system, they go to lengths to ensure that people get those points. For example, when the ZunderFury Hard badge was made an Impossible one, Greg went around and awarded an extra 30 points to everyone who had achieved it while it was listed as a Hard badge. |

I went on a rating spree the day I heard they were changing it to 1 point per rating. But yeah, the site only had 1 point challenge per week. That and rating games were the only ways of getting points. Without referring anyone, I mean. |
Doesn’t even matter. |
It is probably the least unfair way to do it. What would be a fair way of dealing with rating games giving people too many points? |
its lose people who make games that make the site better. I tried to make one but failed miserably so im getting to 20 the other way. |
For a lot of that time there weren’t badges, so there weren’t really many ways to make points. Also there were a lot fewer games to rate… |
Yep. Back in the 5-point rating days if Kong got 5 new games (Closer to 10 in the later parts) you had a ton to rate. Now you have more games to play, and badges to earn. |

And here we see yet another thread where someone is complaining that people who joined Kong in 2007 got a better deal than people who joined Kong in 2008. And you, friend, right now, as you read this, are getting a better deal than the people who will join Kong in 2011 and 2012. Get over it. |

Poor kids. They don’t know what they are getting into. =0 |
A fair way to do it would be to make the badges worth more points when you came out with them, instead of making the ratings less points and the badges less points, too. |
Life is not meant to be fair; you just have to live with it. I didn’t get 5 points for rating each game and I don’t mind at all because I wasn’t here when it happened. |

“The early bird gets the worm.” |
… And the worm is worth 5 points back then. Ha ha ha ha… |
Yes… the poor birds who sign up now only get 1 point. heheheh |
LETS DONT CREDIT BETATESTERS EVEN THOUGH THEY HELPED US A LOT!!! Why do people always think like that… |
it is fair stop complaining. |
