Holy Crap, New Navigation page 4

You’ll notice that elsewhere on the boards it defaults to “Community”. It just defaults to “Home” for this thread because this thread is linked to under “Home”.

The new interface take a while getting used to but it look slick while the downside is that it runs slower on my PC; especially when scrolling down the page. The delay is very noticeable.

arcane, what exactly is slow? The page loads?

I do mean the reaction time of the menu. When I roll over another button, that slight delay is unpleasant and clunky. It’s right on the border of being noticeable.

When you roll from one top level tab to another, we wait .2 seconds to see if you mouse stays over the same tab before changing.

It doesn’t feel right to me. The delay is long enough to make it a little annoying. Maybe 0.1 would be better?

I reloaded the page with Adblock ON and the scroll bar delay is gone. I think it is the animated ads that caused the unresponsiveness. I wish to support this site by turning Adblock OFF therefore I hope something could be done to counter this issue.

Alternatively, you could make it so it doesn’t revert to default when you go out of the menu strip. That way, people can just go down and then all the way along very easily.

i love the new look, navigation is amazing. the new way to view cards is great. love the feature to view the card pictures in more detail. i like how the my badge section is broken up into badges i have, and badges i dont have. quick to from place to place, and easy to get to a different game if my mood decides to change genra. i love the new navigation 6/5 good job kong staff.

To be honest I don’t see a delay at all, which makes me think that Paladin2K is on the right track that some browser/ad combos are causing problems. We’ll investigate in the morning…

At first look, I actually preferred that over ours, but I think that’s due to my navigation reaction.

However, I see exactly what you are saying. The diagonal movement is definitely an issue. I think my hand is trained to move at a 90 degree angle without conscious effort, so I don’t notice.

I have an idea for a possible solution. I may test my theory out at a later time, since I’m not sure if it would work.

I will at least test the site in a couple different browsers.

Looks really cool – but instead of hover i would prefer a click do let the submenu show :)

The Badge overview is fantastic – i ever dreamed ov something like this ;)

I’d definitely agree on the reaction time. It is pretty slow. Maybe 1.5 as Jabor suggested.

The new look is great. I like the division of sections. Feels intuitive to me. Brilliant work, Kong Team.

I second Jabor’s suggestion. Removing the auto-default function on the secondary menu would be perfect.

Visually the new site looks very sharp. My only problem is that after the change, I can no longer play games using the internet browser Opera. I’m not going to boycott the site or openly whine and complain, but if you could fix the issue I would appreciate it greatly.

Splininka – What version of Opera are you using?
