IP ban?

does kong ban you IP? or do they just ban you account?

Just ban account. I would IP ban someone if they keep making spamming accounts.

Every ban has a 15 minute IP ban for making new accounts added on… If I remember correctly. I don’t know if that increases though…

If they would ban the IP, they would cause to ban the whole country.

There will not be block bans on IP from Kongregate as doing so may prevent not just users from using the site, but also those who are not holding accounts.

Kongregate will not block IP only accounts unless someone is doing something bad like making spamming accounts. Ok I hope that helped

IP Bans can block out the whole network. Singapore’s Singtel network has really only one static IP Address and many people including me are inside that network. Ban that IP and you just blocked everyone using the internets :)

As has been mentioned, we don’t IP ban for a variety of reasons. Places like coffee shops, libraries, college campuses and small countries are frequently all on the same IP. We don’t want to shut out all of Singapore just because Jude decided to spam. On a smaller scale, I don’t want the actions of one sibling to get another banned. Because, dude, if my sister got me banned from Kong I would be pissed

Yeah, that pretty much makes IP bans useless to use because of that.

You’re just blocking out most of the middle-class and rich people’s internets. There are still other people but they tend to be clever, I heard. They don’t click ads randomly like we richies do.

And they only tracked the IP from everybody who rated it, and then found out that there were thousands of accounts with the same IP, and then perma-banned all of them (that had the same IP + rated 1/5 on the game).
