New Kongregate Version: Removing of tips module from game pages, new avatars

We’ve announced that we were ending our tipping system back in November. Today was the first step, by removing the tip jar from the game tabs on all games. So you won’t see that section in the game tabs anymore. You can read our reasoning for doing so, and some replies to user comments in the original thread here.

We also have a few new default avatars for all of you. Here is what they look like:

Users:

omg those avatar looks better than 90% of the custom avatars.

Not really a fan of the removal of tips, and the points progress bar no longer affects me, but those default avatars are awesome.

Those new avatars look pretty good, definitely a very different style than the original ones though. I’m assuming that the old ones and these new ones are just going to combine to make a larger pool of default avatars, and that it’s not just going to be these from now on, yes?

Other than that, I’m curious about the change to the points bar thing, since I don’t think I’ll be able to see it myself on this account.

Those default avatars are actually… really good! I’ll certainly switch to one when the holidays are over!

And -1 to the tipping thing, but you’ve already explained your reasons so… it’s ok, I guess.

I don’t like the betty and don avatars, but the rest are good.

Guess you didn’t test this for level 65 users.

The avatars look great, a definite improvement on the old ones. The level progress bar is nice too. Not so sure about the tipping idea though.

These avatars are terrific. I think Kongregate should have more default avatars in this style.

But they’ll take a while for us to get bored of.

these default avatars are stupid. they should have same artstyle as the old avatars. these just dont look default anymore.
