Fixes for new chat page 2

Substantial optimization on the way room joins/enters and other chat info is handled. This should particularly improve the load time of the page, but reduce lag in general

Good optimized, the lag has changed from 30 secons to 1 second. :-)

Fix for the “silenced” bug many Opera users have been getting

I haven’t had this yet, but also a nice update.

Fix for the oversized avatars in chat

Now fix the oversized avatars for the forums. (if it isn’t fixed yet)

Fix for some strange lightbox behavior

What does this do? Does it reduce lag or something?

I’d rather have it in orginal size and yellow, but I don’t have any complaints about this anymore.

The only thing that should be revived is the “mute all”-button.

A suggestion to add is a teporary mute and a list of muted people.

actually to be quite exact, I’m having more connection problems now with the update… Still am…

PM’s should be bold…

It was alot easier to find them when the PMs were tinted in blue, the whole message that is, and it was also easyier to tell that they were PMs and not just posts in normal chat because the text looks exactly the same.
What happened to being able to click on the persons name and chat and being able to see their profile that way, it was alot easier to mute and friend people that way, instead of having to scroll all the way through the users.

Great job i love what you’ve done now.I think i can get used to this.All i think you need to do is change the size of the writing because its very small.

I still have to send a private message before I can type. Games still freeze. Can’t exactly go to players profiles from chat either. What exactly was 100% fixed here?

Sinner: I’d like to find out a little more about what’s going wrong with your setup. Player profiles from chat are a known issue that we’re going to fix, but shouldn’t be affecting performance. However, the private message issue is a first for me. What Operating System and Browser (including version) are you using? Do you have AdBlocker Plus or any other similar security plugins installed? What type of internet connection are you using (DSL/Cable/Dial-up/etc.)? Thanks!

Just to be clear, the old chat connected just fine.

As you noted, there are indeed some issues with the 64-bit Flash plugin in Linux. We’ve created a thread for Linux users here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/1/topics/41727. I hope it helps! Once that release gets out of alpha into a more stable beta version we intend to start supporting it.

I occasionally have chat randomly connect now, but it’s very rare (thus far it’s happened only on one specific game, the new Monster’s Den game, and only rarely, maybe once in every 10 times I load the page). I still mostly cannot connect to chat or achievements at all. Tried in newest version of IE, Firefox, and Chrome with newest version of Flash Player.

It makes me feel sad. All the work the devs did and you just removed a huge chunk of work. I haven’t checked the new chat since yesterday though.

Whats with the new PMs? The ones before this this with the blue tint and the reply button were winnage

Any way of fixing the incredible lag on the timing based games such as Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe? Seriously, nobody can get the impossible badge on it anymore =/

Whenever I try the chat, it says “Connection failed” or something. Never happened before.

I just noticed something pretty weird. If I click on the white space in the place that shows all of the people in the chat room, I go to the profile of a user named “undefined,” even though there is nobody named that in the chat room.

It’s quite very annoying that you have to load the chat in order to view the badges in the new chat now.

I don’t see how is that a problem, loading the chat is fast. The badges are going to be put below the game but it’s not annoying that’s it’s not there.
And if the chat is not loading, seeing the achievements would be totally useless because you wouldn’t be able to earn them! You could also just view it in the Achievements page.

Ahhhhh whenever I type a whisper it’s in the same font… it’s getting really confusing on who sent who things. Only way I know the difference is by the little (reply) thing after it. Please change something so I can stop being cunfuzzled lol. Thank you!!

For the chat part, I think there shoud be a spot where you could pick scheme of the chatroom and upload a picture as a background on the chat.

not that great, could have done without it, it takes a while to get used to, you should give the players the choice of if they want the update or not.

I don’t think Flash chats would be compatible with HTML chats.
