I dislike the new afk business, it looks like the old silencing. It looks messy and unattractive. I would appreciate it if something was done about this – perhaps all of the afk people are put at the bottom of the chat? Or perhaps they could be a different colour? Hmm.

I stay grey even when talking for some unknown reason. As much as I love not having people bother me about it, I assume it is the sort of thing I should report

What happen’s to badges? Why they’re all colored? >< It’s really frustrating…

There was a hiccup slowing down the server that was related to the badges. We’ve temporarily turned them all colored while we get it figured out in order to get the speed back up. We certainly don’t plan to keep it that way.

joshhh – Are you still having the problem of not coming back from afk?

They should be, though that was changed a couple weeks ago I think. :)

Agreed.. Came into chat wondering why there were like 8 people silenced. Then I saw that I got greyed out but was still able to chat. Maybe we could have a little “change status” command in the chat room, that way we can actually say if we’re afk or playing a game or busy or available. That way, people won’t get confused with the greying out.

Not only colored, but the tooltip is “completed” for every unachieved badges. So it must be some bug…

Actually I think we should have an option of “automated afk mode” on profile editting, and default it to NO. Seeing a room with half of the users grayed (or nearly white on my screen) isn’t fun actually.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the AFK feature, but it should be only activated at demand of an individual user.

@MukiJames: The explanation is just some posts above :S

EDIT: Forgot to add, another button to toggle afk status is needed too.

What AFK situation? I’ve been commenting and going back and forth throughout this thread. I don’t know if we’ll make it an option to turn off afk or not. As for the color, I think people will get used to it, but I can also see us using a slightly darker gray or an icon – we’ll just have to investigate that ourselves.

StarryDawn – I fail to understand what you mean when you say it “isn’t fun”. It’s much more enlightening and provides you with more information. Now you actually know how many people are in the chatroom and active, instead of seeing hundreds of names and not having a clue who’s actually around.

Oops, perhaps I’m getting too used to a rather silent room…… Much of my complaint on that line is the color, it’s too light I can’t see it without tuning down my screen brightness. We won’t bother on silenced users with that color because most people don’t care about them.

joshhh – Are you still having the problem of not coming back from afk?

I came back in room chat after changing rooms. Though it remained in game chat, (RoS beta). It changed back to normal after I refreshed the page. I have since gone afk again and haven’t had the same problem.

Thanks joshhh – please let me know if you have this problem again, but we had some server issues this morning that may have caused a lot of delay or lag in the chat as well, so I’m going to mark this down as random glitch unless it happens again. :)

all badges (even unearned) are now in colour? that seems pretty confusing..

Well, this could just be the badge, but im seeing achievements are taking longer to get in the new chat. It took nearly 3 minutes for my fission mailed badge to register….

1337al – Having the badges colorized is a temporary fix to a glitch we had this morning. We’re working to fix it and will hopefully have it back to normal tonight. Don’t worry – it won’t affect your badge earning at all.

bloodbullet – I’m not sure if it’s related or not. There shouldn’t be too much of a lag, but sometimes things are a little slow just post release. If it keeps up in a few days let me know.

I remember coming into chat today and seeing almost have the room in grey, and the first thing I did was thought they were silenced. I almost freaked out, thinking some mod had been hacked and went on a silencing spree.
