Cool! This is an awesome idea!
KCG Writers Thread/Writer Sign-Ups page 2

Since this thread has Sign-Ups in its name, can I apply to be an interviewer? |
|
|
Argh Hokage. It’s so annoying when I post a guide then it gets flooded under with tonnes of tass’ videos and other stuff. It always happens to me! D: |
|
|
But I joke – I joke! |
|
|
Okay, I guess I’m supposed to ‘verify I got the message’, so…Yeah, I’m aware of the thread and got the message. :) Which reminds me…I haven’t posted an article in a while…Any suggestions/requests? If not I’ll just pick something. (Oh, and by the way, ncio sure makes some badasswome banners [So awesome I had to make up a new word :O]) |

I think that’s going in the kongregate – book of awesome words :D |

We already have too many writers writing a huge number of articles. It’s a cluster of multiple articles not giving any other articles a chance to be seen. I don’t support another writer at all, actually. Bigger isn’t always better, maybe hokage needs to learn this. |

Puh I’m bored I’ll make a ambreil one-two walkthrough…. I’ll post here…. |

I think we just need to lay off interviews; I noticed (especially in the past week or so), several good articles have been posted only to be buried under very length interviews. What I think would be a good idea to manage the interviews is to create another blog — perhaps “kcginterviews.blogspot.com”, and make the interview blog posts there. Then, just link to that post when you make a interview post on KCG. Hell, if we needed too we could do that with guides and reviews as well, but I don’t think we should. I’m not against the interviews, I just think we should have a way to cut down the length of them, as they take up a large portion of the page when posted. Maybe similar to what COCAK had: The “read the full article…” button after around one paragraph. :/ |

I’m not 100% with this one. |
|

COCAK? The website dedicated to hacking Kongregate? :o I do see that the main page is flooded with reviews/guides/interviews, and most of them don’t get enough time on the front page to really be appreciated. |

No, COCAK was just about the most popular Kongregate blog back in the day. FRAGM3NT (The ex-owner) decided to shut it down, though. |

We let users not only be in one section Reviews, Walkthroughs, Interviews. We already have too many users doing interviews, if we crossed them over to reviews and walkthroughs we might get more variety. 2. Increase the quality of the interviews. A lot of them I’ve seen are pretty crappy interviews with only a couple of questions – a number of them silly and irrelevant – followed up by short answers. |

I whole-heartedly agree. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love interviews, but they just are too frequent and take up just about an entire ‘screen-worth’ of the page. :/ Reviews sometimes do (and guides occasionally, but these days they are mostly videos), but keep in mind they are only posted maybe once or twice a week. :/ |

Originally posted by Marh:Originally posted by PlatinumIce:Originally posted by Marh:Originally posted by ljrules95: Yes because I think people interviewing off a template of questions isn’t very good. It’s just repetitive and boring. I feel if users wish to interview people, they should make their own questions. Review their questions and make sure everything is as good as it can be before interviewing the person they want. Answers should be almost accurate to what the answers where. Overall make original questions. It’s like doing it home-made if you get my idea. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense. |

I request an interview for googoolyeye. Oh wait…. |

I think we should have limits on interviews. Maybe decree a limit of three, four interviews a week. We don’t need to do this with guides or reviews yet as they haven’t gotten ‘out of hand’, but I believe we need to do something about the interviews. Once again, and I feel the need to repeat this because I feel as though I’m coming off as a total jackass, I have nothing against interviews. I love them. I just think they are too big and too frequent. And lj, I totally agree with having more original questions. Interviews right now just feel so…devoid of emotion. It’s the same pre-baked idea over and over: Whats favorite game? XXX Whats inspiration from username? XXX What’s favorite room? XXX etc etc. |

Who ever said you were a Jackass? Your the guy who makes the most sense around here. |

Marh - Doesn't post often Sabercow- Doesn't post often This is just an estimation of how often people post. Most people only post once or twice a week. I post very often mainly to put up guides from tasselfoot. If anything, I could edit the time it was posted so that tass video guides aren't always on top. Anyway- Clearly there isn't a "huge" number of articles. If anybody actually spends more than 10 seconds on the screen, they should be able to see many other articles. Originally posted by PlatinumIce:Originally posted by Marh:Originally posted by ljrules95: Reviews aren't posted often enough (1-2 times a week) and aren't (and shouldn't) be a concern. Interviews just needed to get on the site. I just needed to transfer the interviews from the personality thread to the site, so that's the only reason they all spammed on the site at once. Your idea to make another review blog seems pointless. Over a 3 year period, there's only 60 reviews. I highly doubt another blog will ever be necessary. Why cut down on the length of reviews? They're greatly made and actually give the readers something to read. I can assure you that most people don't go to our site just to find game guides, especially recently. Unfortunately, we can't do a feature like that, because of the way Blogger works. |

As I also pointed out, I really think the quality of the interviews are equally is important. A very large amount of the interviews that have been made have been pretty short and ridiculous. If you’re going to make your interview that short – which you shouldn’t – at least make all of the questions legitimate questions, that expect legitimate and detailed answers.
When did anybody say they wanted to cut down the lengths. I made the point clear that many of the interviews are too short and silly. |
