Calculating points for level

I was bored and just wondered how exactly the points relate to the level you are. I’m not sure whether they were all just set one by one, but I would have thought it is calculated with some formula. It will probably only be a formula for getting the level from the points, and maybe it involves a logarithmic type function with rounding in places. However, I have been looking at getting the points from the level and came up with this:

For levels n = 2 to 34: points: 5(n+3)(n+4) – 100

and then for levels 35 to 40 add on to it

[ 15(n-32)(n-31) ] /2 + 5(n-34) + 55

41 is 5 over and 42 is 15 over, and I didn’t bother looking past this, because I would just end up adding on lots of other sums of series =/. However, this has covered most levels with an easy enough formula =).

If you know anything about the actual calculating of the levels, or want to add on to any of this, or see anything that needs correcting, or anything really, then please say =0.

EDITS: ok… my first formula doesn’t seem to work for 31 and 32 =/.

Before, I think that from some level on (I don’t remember which) every level required 10 more points than the previous. So if you needed 250 to level 18, you would need 260 to level 19.

But I now think the formula has changed – and it’s probably similar to yours.

for my formula from 2 to 34, that’s exactly what it’s doing ;)

Maybe since the level cap is 64, we could make a chart that shows how many points you need for each level. Maybe someone could make an alt account and get badges to see how many points they need for the lower levels, and then we could ask the higher-leveled people how many points they need for their next level.

If it helps, I am level 22 and I will be level 23 at 3,410 points.

(n <= 34) To get to the nth level, you need i(n) = 10(n+3) points.

Total to get to the nth level, you need p(n) = 50(n-1)(n+8). (Sorry Zantier, but I’m better at factorizing quadratics.)

Oh, you could use p(n) = A56000 * 10

(35 <= n <= 40) Total to get to the nth level is p(n) = (25n^2 – 8651n)/2 + 7285

2660 for level 20…

9985 for level 40.

well anyways, at least our formula’s seem to agree that assuming no rounding, there are different formulas for different ranges of levels =0.

They should take the level cap off (or… set a formula for higher levels) to see how high he gets hehe.

I think I might as well put a big list in my first post of all the points for all the known (to me at least) levels.

CoolDude, no you don’t. You get banned for hacking points. The good way to get points is to get badges.

or if you own a popular gaming site, then referring is the easiest way to get points =0…. which kinda ruins it for people wanting the levels to compare only your badge-obtaining ability lol =P as opposed to…. errr… kongregate loyability I guess.

Also, the only way we’ll get the rest of the levels is either to stalk jmtb02 and gouken, or calculate them ourselves.

I think stalking sounds good ;) unless we are given the exact formula’s used to calculate the points, it’s impossible to predict really =(. Cos from my suggestion of the formulas at least, it changes for different level ranges =/. Probs guna take a long time for those people to get up to 63 though lol.

Eh… why don’t you people just use the old fashioned way?

Every level up, it’s the amount of points needed to get to your previous level plus 10.

Using this, it should be no trouble to get the rest of the level’s required points.

I worked out 47 in seconds using this. It’s 14700. =]
