b) Depends how you look at it. I’ve been programming in BASIC since I was 5 (I’m 31 now), but it’s the last few years I’ve tried to make a job out of it, but no profit so far. (Well, some in theory, but not enough to make the minimum payment level from any of the app-stores or ad-servers!)
c) Either way is fine.
d) Level design and difficulty curve I found particularly tricky, they weren’t really factors in anything I’ve made previously. (And it had to present some difficulty for 2 players co-op while still being playable with 1 player.)

Well, if you want closure, I will say that making a good RTS on flash is utterly hopeless. I think I would have enjoyed your game 20 times more if it was a PC game, in full screen and with possibility of right click.
I can’t believe you didn’t put music and sounds in your game :o .The first levels are too hard, I lost at level 2 even though I think I was doing fine. The graphics for the spaceships are fine but the menus are ugly To conclude I think that you didn’t have enough people test your game before you released it to the public. Here the ratings are very severe and now that your score is 2.5, it wont be able to go up.
I hope you learned a lot by making this game, you definitely know how to program so I hope we will see more of your games soon :)

Like someone allready mentioned it would be nice to have sound, fullscreen and right click. I also mentioned in the commented of tha game that it would be good to have warrning when you are attacked. And enemy spawn cells should be visible on the radar once you discover them.
But besides that it has potential.

Your game is fine. I didn’t understand at first that I could buy more people because it’s hard to see. Also I never knew when my skill was recharged so I right-clicked a lot. I didn’t find a way to return to the menu without dying.

That got me into thinking, outside of the obvious obstacle that is I have no experience in using Unity so far, would it be worthwhile if I remake my game using Unity? That way I can add better camera control methods and right click commands. I am an RTS fan so I am somewhat reluctant to see the game just go, though at the same time it is probably the best time for me to let this thing rest in peace. Oh well forget it.

Nice graphics! However, the gameplay is a bit bland and unoriginal. Having to restart from level 1 after dying is also frustrating. Lastly, having your fully upgraded weapon swapped with a completely unupgraded one is just too nasty a surprise for the players. It can also be bypassed by switching to your secondary before the end of a round. Your game still has potential and the graphics is really, really good. Looking forward to more of your work!

You can also learn Haxe, which is pretty similar to actionscript but allow you to compile PC games and recode the game.
