All the games in my profile were made for 0$, I just learned the code and drew the art myself. The only real investment has been time. The worst part it I am a programmer, I program its what i do and i love it. Im not an artist though so I don’t have good art in my games, and that is what holds me back. You prety much need a person to code, a person for art and sound too i guess. I never put much thought into sound because I assumed a song in the BG that aint to annoying and maybe some clicks were good.

> What is the hardest part about making a game?
That depends on your own limitations.
In my case, time is the enemy.
> What people are needed to make a “good” game (other than Designer)?
What a “good game” is depends on the players.
ie; Endeavor has horrible graphics, bad audio and a boring gameplay (in my opinion), but it was highly rated and I guess that, based on the rating, you can consider it a good game.
So… having good/bad graphics and audio won’t instantly make your game a “good/bad” one.
Said that, you don’t need extra staff to make a “good” game. In the end, it all comes to the popular opinion.
> How much does the average Kongregate game cost to make (tens, hundreds, etc.)?
Considering that the average Kongregate game is a random button game or a one-level sniper game, the total cost should be about $0.00.
The cost of a game only increases if you hire people. As long as you do all the work, making a game costs no money.

I guess I’m a noob so please don’t say that this is a stupid question.
I know that you need some kinda program to make Kongregate games, but there is also a website called Sploder where you can make small kinda games. I just want to know if you can upload the game you made on that website into Kongregate. It says that it will be able to upload your games into your website, but does that include your account for, say, Kongregate? Please tell me.

What programs do I need to make “good” games?
For average or good games, you use the same programs :P Personally, I use adobe flash cs4 with flash develop. But only flash develop can be enough.
.
What people are needed to make a game for Kongregate (other than Designer)?
To make a game, only someone that know how to code, a developer :P
.
What people are needed to make a “good” game (other than Designer)?
Well, to make a good game, it depends. IF you are bad at arts, you’ll probably need an artist. A sound designer is good too, but I don’t think you can afford one at the beginning. THat’s why free sound and music exist.
.
How much does the average Kongregate game cost to make (tens, hundreds, etc.)?
Well, even the better games on kongregate have usualy no production cost. The developers often share a parts of their profits with artist and sound designer, so the proejct doesn’t cost anything to do.

_How much does the average Kongregate game cost to make?_
On average? I don’t know. Most likely? Nothing. You’re actually going to want the free options for development – FlashDevelop is a coding environment, whereas Adobe’s Flash tool is designed for animations (and, in my experience, is a hassle to code in).
(By the way; Flixel isn’t a separate tool. Flixel is a _library_, which you plug into your project – most likely in FlashDevelop – to make it easier to access input, video and sound. )

Hey guys
Just signed up, been a fan of the site for awhile now. Some awesome Flash content out there eh. But I noticed Unity stuff now. For years I’ve thought about making games. I’ve managed to put together a couple Unity games. If you guys want to take a look I’d appreciate it. Just work in progress stuff, still a little new to Unity. In any case, for some of you guys thinking about making games I say go for it. If it’s Flash or Unity either way we all just want to play great games. Now, I’m not familiar with how the dev functions for Flash games, but so far Unity has made the learning enjoyable and tons of utube tutorials like the tornado twins to get started with basic stuff. In any case good luck for those wanting to give it a try.
cheers!
