I wouldn’t recommend the shootorials for two reasons:
1) They don’t actually teach you all that much
2) They teach AS2 (unless you’re using the AS3 version, which i doubt)
I recommend you learn AS3 with [these](http://gamedev.michaeljameswilliams.com/2008/09/17/avoider-game-tutorial-1/) tutorials, they are what I used after I gave up on the shootorials.. AS3 is definitely a lot more intuitive and less limiting than AS2. If you’re going to stay with AS2, then I’m sorry I can’t help you..
