Hi, can someone explain what is the value of different pots compared to tiered weapons and armor

Flag Post

Defense potion is the most common currency, so I’m going to use that as a base price.

Potions:
4-2 Attack = 1 Defense
3-2 Wisdom = 1 Defense
4-3 Dexterity = 1 Defense
9-6 Speed = 1 Defense
~1 Vitality = 1 Defense

Equipment:
Tier 8/Tier 4 ability = These drop in godlands, thus the price is commonly regarded as nothing. Might be worth a speed potion if lucky.
Tier 9 = 1 Stat potion
Tier 10 = ~1 Defense, more or less
Tier 11/Tier 5 ability = 1-4 Defense
Tier 12/Tier 6 ability = 10-50 Defense

Heavy armor < Leather armor ~< Robe armor
Wand < Sword < Bow ~ Staff ~ Dagger
(Wands are typically worth much less because the Crystal Wand pwns them all, including the Tier 12 one)

Rings:
Paramount HP = Nothing, maybe a speed pot.
Paramount Defense = ~1 stat potion.
Other Paramount = Typically nothing.
Exalted Dex / MP = ~1-3 Defense
Exalted HP = 6-8 Defense
Exalted Def = 8-11 Defense
Other Exalted = ~1 Defense

Special:
Crystal sword = 1-3 Defense
Crystal wand = 3-6 Defense
Wine cellar incantation = 10-16 Defense
Wand of the bulwark = 20-35 Defense?
Staff of Extreme Prejudice = 15-30 Defense?
Demon Blade = 50+ Defense?
Doom Bow = 40-60 Defense

Also, there is a trading forum in the game’s own website: http://forums.wildshadow.com/forum/51

(Asiasoutheast)

Potions:

3 Wisdom = 1 Defense
2-3 Dexterity = 1 Defense
6-8 Speed = 1 Defense
0.5-1 Vitality = 1 Defense

Equipment:
Tier 9 = 1 Stat potion
Tier 10 = ~1 Defense, more or less
Tier 11/Tier 5 ability = 1-3 Defense
Tier 12/Tier 6 ability = 10-50 Defense

Paramount MP = Worth my shit.
Paramount Defense = ~1 stat potion (depends).
Paramount Vitality = ~1 stat potion (depends).
Other Paramount rings = Probably a spd potion

Exalted Rings are 8~11 def pots (Mostly @ 10)

Speed pots are most dropped, but Def pots are common currency so I’ll use that as base price.
Avg price, US east.

Pots:
1 vit=1 Def = 2-3 Wis =3-4 Attk =3-4 Dex = 6-8 Speed

In order of supply and demand. I’ve sold vit at 1 def+1 attk, and buy all my def @ 2 wis. I’ve seen people buy def@ 5 dex as well, so it really depends on player economy.

Equipments:*
T8/T4= speed pot~usually speed, maybe more if lucky or less if unlucky also on item(gbow, spell, skull, cloak)*
T9=stat pot~usually attack, or 2 speeds, more or less depending on item (vbow, wand, staff)*
T10=Def pot, give or take a couple things to smooth negotiations
T11/T5 ability= 1-3 Def
T12/T6 ability= 10-50 def

Para rings: speed pot or less
*Para def-Def pot
*para hp-Maybe attk pot

Exa rings: 3-8 def pots.

Amulet of Resurrection: 60+ def pots min

Misc:

Drake eggs
Pirate Rum
Mushroom

technically, nothing, can use throw it in a deal to push them to accept though ;)

Pots are rather interesting, can they boost a stat to no limit, or is there one?

There is a limit which is different for each class. See the wiki: http://forums.wildshadow.com/forums/wiki/realm-mad-god/classes

Pot prices have changed, vit is more expensive than def now, at around 1.25-1.5def :1 vit
meanwhile, wis has fallen a bit, but still more expensive than attk. I’d quote it at around.. 1.35wis: 1 attk: 1.25 dex
speed remains around unchanged, 6-8 speed for a def still.

Ofc, all this prices ARE NOT OBJECTIVE, and are IMO only through what I’ve traded and seen on US east.

what this game needs is an ACTUAL currency, so it is better to judge what something is worth.

It is actual currency.

Money is only useful because of what we value it has, it has no inherent value. That’s why back then people used iron, silver, gold, bronze as money, because it had inherent value, just as in ROTMG, we use pots, because it has inherent value. Money prices also fluctuate a ton. Everyday, hundreds of billions are traded through arbitration, causing inflation deflation, etc which has to be carefully managed by the government.

So.. yea TL:DR, you’re wrong, pots are actual currency.

What’s the easiest way to get defense potions? like from gods or….what?

You can also look up Alchemist’s price guide, that one’s well known.

Flag Post

frog, alchemist’s is out of date, by a long shot.

elder is worth 3x the amount he’s posted there, as well as other items are also priced out of date. (I’ve sold 2 elder’s for around 10 def now.)

They should add a currency called silver coins (and it won’t be an arbitrary currency, as you’ll see).

Only way to obtain it is by trading in one def pot for 1,000 silver coins. Also, you may buy a def pot (or as many as you like) with 1,000 silver coins. They can then be traded with other players (they don’t take up any inventory space) who can trade them again, or who can exchange them back for def pots. This way prices wouldn’t be affected at all, it would just make all trading MUCH easier.

Also, if you think I should post this in its own thread as a suggestion, in other words, if you think it’s any good, please say so. ;) If you think it’s worth less than s*it, you’re free to say that as well :P
If I do post it as a suggestion, then I’ll include all the smaller details as well.

Note: There would be no way to exchange silver and gold, or silver and fame. It would purely be a better currency for trading items.

… So you’re saying that you essentially are using a new system of a vault that you don’t need to pay for…

No. It sucks.

Flag Post

Hmm… I didn’t really think of it in terms of storage. It would only be a free vault for def pots though, so I really don’t think that would affect people’s buying of vault chests. Note that ONLY def pots could be turned into silver coins and back. The only way to get any other item than a def pot from silver coins would be trading silver coins you have, with items from another player’s inventory.

If you still think that’s OP, than the silver coin bag could take up an inventory space. If you think THAT’s OP, than silver coin bags could hold only up to a certain limit of coins each, such as 5,000 or 1,000 coins per inventory space. If you think that makes them useless… than tell me and I’ll think up of something else :P

P.S. I really want a player-to-player currency that’s more flexible than def pots, if you couldn’t already tell :D

Flag Post

I think your idea is just an over-complication of stacking pots.

Flag Post

I’d rather they work on other aspects of the game before implementing a currency system that would make RotMG exactly like every other MMOG. Personally, I agree, the system can be a pain, but the idiots in the system make it worth it. If everyone knew that X item was worth Y amount of coins, the (currently) small population of serious sellers we have online at any given time would explode into full-blown madness. With this sort of bartering, X doesn’t always have to = Y, so you can get great bargains sometimes, too. That wouldn’t last for long if everything was defined in numeric coin or dollar type currency :/

Also, while prices will always fluctuate, we won’t experience huge amounts of inflation unless the developers decide to make the def pots drop more often. Unlike paper money that has no real-world value (other than for fire tinder or as bookmarks), unless developers change something, a def pot always will increase the def stat of a character, which is valuable in the game by definition. You won’t ever have a situation where nobody wants def pots. We essentially regulate our own economy, which is pretty cool :P
