I got a Platinum Pack from the daily reward, opened it, but didn’t get the Epic card, promissed by the “Platinum packs guarantee at least 1 epic card for one week” sale.
Can post screenshot if needed.

You don’t get the weekly deal if you got the pack before the deal (tuesday) or if you get the pack through daily rewards. The exception is draft packs.

They want your money? lol. Every pack except draft packs are determined when you get the pack. Why to the later? No idea, they just made it that way (though I could play devil’s advocate).

“Why” is because it prevents people from buying a mountain of packs when they are on half off sale and waiting to open them until they are on enhanced quality sale.

techno shaman is correct. you are getting a deal by buying regular packs at a discount, or you are getting an enhancement by paying regular price with a garantee of Epic or legendary ( or whatever the promotion is) not both.
Draft packs are the exception, because everyone going into the draft must be on equal footing. either all rare or all normal.

That’s not even close to what happened, how did we get here? I’m asking why it doesn’t apply to the packs from the daily reward.

because the daily reward packs are not packs on sale. They’re the vanilla packs with no alterations.

That’s what we know. Now we need to know why.

Because to change the daily platinum packs to have the special offer for the week would take effort and there’s no reason for the devs to put effort in to reward blind luck.

So they punish and lie to them instead?

I doubt not giving an epic to the FREE pack would be considered “punishing”

But sadly, it is. They guaranteed platinum packs would grant an epic, but that didn’t happen.

Everyone complaining about this is pretty greedy. You’re getting the pack for free, and it’s not good enough for you?

It would be good, if the game didn’t promise me an epic card.

But the game didn’t promise you an epic card: You got a regular Platinum pack, which is what you can get from the random pack. The game special is that they are selling “Special Offer” Platinum in the store. Therefore, because you didn’t get a “Special Offer” pack, you got a regular one, and the epic isn’t guaranteed.

1. The game guaranteed an epic card from platinum packs (It didn’t say reward packs were excluded from the “Special Offer”)
2. I got a platinum pack without an epic card.
Both can’t happen at the same time.

People do realize plat packs, if no epic is pulled, isn’t really better than a gold pack right? It’s only uber lucky if you get a random epic+ in it. The sale of the week promised at least one epic for plat packs, it SHOULD specify if there are any exceptions. I would assume that weekly reward plat pack would function as you buying a plat pack in store but for 0 dc. I can see how that’s not the case, but a disclaimer should be made if there are going to be exceptions.

But you didn’t get a “Special Offer” pack, you got a regular one. This is like complaining you didn’t get all rares or better in a diamond pack, because you bought a Gold pack. They are different kinds of card packs entirely.

Today was my ‘daily pack’, and I received a silver… the picture on it was that of the silver pack with the ‘special offer’ banner on top. I did also receive a crafting material from it too. It is possible they have fixed the issue this topic is discussing, or it’s possible that the game just chose to give him a regular platinum pack instead of a special offer variety for some random reason.
I do have to agree, it is unfriendly to their players and borders on false advertising to have a promotion that states it guarantees a certain thing, but is unclear about/does not state any exceptions that might occur.

How about in future they just don’t give you any reward packs? Then you’d be happier, from the way this is sounding…
Does that seem strange to you? You’d be complaining less for receiving NOTHING for free, than for receiving a paid pack?

We included Platinum packs in the Free daily rewards because we wanted to give free players a chance at some DC Paid content. If we wanted to include the special promotion packs in the free daily rewards we would have mentioned that specifically. No one expects their free gold packs from daily rewards to contain all rares on all rare promotions week.
This was in no way us hiding or lying or in any way negatively affecting our players. Those lucky enough to get a Platinum pack for free in the daily rewards have the same chance at Epics they always have.

I can understand the notion of making these packs an exception.
However, for the sake of preventing people that do nitpick from making such threads in the future, could the promotions that include only newly bought packs to state something along the line:
“For one week only, X pack is on sale, giving Y.”
For example, this promotion would be: “One week only, special Platinum Pack is on sale with at least one epic.”
That way it will be clear that you need to actually buy that pack, and do it within the duration of the promotion, to get anything from it.

I agree with the developers on this one. Although including the phrase all platinum packs bought this week are guaranteed to contain an epic, (and just be sure to include the word bought into the descriptors about the promotions) would go a long way to making the people whine less when they get a pack for free or try to open one from another week. At that point you would just be able to point to the word bought in the descriptor to shut them up. It would really save you a lot of time.
