Not sure what you mean by body, but it can be Flash MX 2004 or higher. (Any program that supports ActionScript 2)

So something like FlashDevelop http://osflash.org/flashdevelop would work?

I believe it should, though the Shootorials do not use the same program, so some of the instructions and tools would differ. The code would stay the same though.

There is no Adobe Body that I know of. The main programs that you can use for the contest are Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, and FlashDevelop. Anything that can export to an .swf will work, but those are your best bets.

Is there a free version of Flash?

If you go into the Programmers forum, there’s a sticky with a whole lot of alternatives to Flash. They’re harder to understand, for the most part, but you don’t have to spend some $700-800 dollars.

If I recall the student versioon prevents you from uploading any games for $$, in exchange for the cheaper cost, so be wary of that.

i asked my mom what kind we have and she sayed we had adobe body and i have no money to spend on a new one so i was wondering if that work but i guss nobody knows of it
