Honestly, in the current game I never feel like trying to accomplish an achievement. They are not rewarding, and many of them are unobtainable for most people.

So here is how I would fix the existing badges:

Unlock 4 planets:
Requires fairly strong heroes, lvl ~20 tech, so should give a fair reward.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 1M of each resource + 2 skill books + 10 gold.

Continuous login 10 days:
Very easy to get, but is an incentive to keep people playing.
I suggest a 7 day VIP + 5 gold.

Add friends:
Trivial to get on day 1, and not really useful.
I suggest this keeps the current lousy reward, it is probably rather good on day 1.

Recruit purple heroes:
Requires 3 months of playing, or buying alot of gold. Either way, a dedicated player.
I suggest this gives a triple skill book + 1 upgrade book + 25 gold

Defeat 10 Raid Bosses:
Trivial to get by collecting gems yourself, just completing the first couple of chapters should get you enough.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 100k of each resource + 5 full spirit gems + 2 gold.

Defeat 100 Raid Bosses:
Requires rather long active playing, and helping others with gems.
I suggest a 7 day VIP + 5 demon gems + 10 gold

Defeat 1000 Raid Bosses:
Requires daily massive dedication to the game over a long period of time. The reward should be substantial.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 10M of each resource + 5 skill books + 10 upgrade books + 30 day VIP + 100 gold

10 successive PvP wins:
Trivial to get, if you pick your targets. Should be something people can obtain within the first 2 weeks of playing.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 100k of each resource + 5 gold.

100 successive PvP wins:
Very hard to get without somehow being “under the radar” or having massive skills and army.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 1M of each resource + 3 upgrade books + 10 gold

Win 10 battles:
Another day 1 achievement.
Keep current + 2 gold.

Win 100 battles:
Doable in the first couple of days.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 100k of each resource + 3 day VIP + 5 gold

Win 1000 battles:
Takes a while, but since it never resets or depends on time, it is also rather easy to get.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 1M of each resource + 7 day VIP + 10 gold

Buildings upgraded to level 2:
Another day 1 achievement.
Let it stay the same + 2 gold

Buildings upgraded to level 10:
Another first 2 week achievement.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 100k of each resource + 3 day VIP + 5 gold

Buildings upgraded to level 20:
Requires months of building.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 2M of each resource + 24h build card + 25 gold

Buildings upgraded to level 25:
Requires 6 months of building.
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 15M of each resource + 10 × 24h build card + 1 x engineer skill book + 1 upgrade book + 100 gold

Buildings upgraded to level 30:
Requires 12 months of continuous building
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 50M of each resource + 10 × 7d build card (does not exist currently) + 5 x engineer skill book + 10 upgrade books + 90 day VIP + 250 gold

New achievements:

Continuous login 100 days:
I suggest a 30 day VIP + 100 gold.

Unlock 5 planets:
I suggest 50M of each resource + 10 × 7d build card + 250 gold.

Lose 100M (that is 200 MS) worth of army on reinforcements:
Gives 3 day hero double xp

Lose 1000M worth of army on reinforcements:
Gives 30 day hero double xp

Build 100M ships:
I suggest 5 gold + 100k of each resource.

Build 1000M ships:
I suggest 10 gold + 1M of each resource.

Build 10000M ships:
I suggest 100 gold + 10M of each resource.

Build 100000M ships:
I suggest 250 gold + 50M of each resource.

Combined 40 levels of tech (That is around tech lvl 3)
I suggest 2 gold

Combined 100 levels of tech (That is around tech lvl 9)
I suggest 5 gold

Combined 200 levels of tech (That is around tech level 15)
I suggest 25 gold + scientist book

Combined 300 levels of tech (That is around tech level 25 for those you use)
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 10M of each resource + 10 × 24h build card + 1 x scientist skill book + 1 upgrade book + 100 gold

Combined 450 levels of tech (That is around tech level 30 for most)
I suggest this gives a reward equal to 50M of each resource + 10 × 7d build card (does not exist currently) + 5 x scientist skill book + 10 upgrade books + 90 day VIP + 250 gold

The biggest problem I can see with my 3+ suggestions is that they requires very much backpack space… For that I suggest that there is a separate item store for non-gem/non-equipable items with infinite storage.

I agree that most of the achievements are rather lackluster, and the rewards can be worse. It doesn’t make sense that some of the harder achievements have significantly lower rewards than the easy ones. This solution at the same time is a huge swing in the other direction. Meet us in the middle PM?

he fixed this a little bit for some of the newer rewards but overall they are stupid and pointless. i do like the gold as a reward, especially since its mostly impossible to get a good amount of skills or anything without gold. and there is no downside to giving out a little gold to players. overall it makes everyone a lot happier and more satisfied with the game, and it shouldnt interfere with anyone willing to pay, since free gold ingame probably wouldnt come close to the advantage of being a pay player.
in fact i know of several players that were considering spending some money on the game, but are totally pissed with that last patch, and a whole bunch of other problems within this game. i doubt PM will actually do it, but allowing players to earn some gold ingame would in fact make players happier and more willing to pay on top of it.

I don’t think it would be fair for the players who already own those achievements. I’ve stated more than once that I’d personally like this game much more if there were the chance of winning some gold from time to time, but Paymage is deaf on that ear, apparently; nontheless, i still think that the rewards you are proposing are not very fair.

all he would have to do is simply reset all the achievments for everyone, so that when everyone logs back in, they would get the new rewards. the current rewards are total crap, so its not like old players get any kind of advantage.

This has got to be the best idea ever. Playmage probably wont go for giving out the free gold but as far as the rest of the rewards are well done. Hopefully Playmage sees this and takes it into consideration for the next update.

I don’t really think people are trying to be unfair to those that have finished them already, but if it is something that will make the game better, it’s about the future, not the past.

It is indeed doubtful that PM will hand out gold for achievements, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. It’s up to us to try and convince PM that it could be worth it for him. I find it fairly odd though that you get gold for getting people to play TW, but that there is no other way for people to get gold without someone paying for it. I think the retention rate would go up a lot if people would be able to get small amounts of gold in some other way. And an increased retention rate should lead to a far bigger exponential growth in active players.

The books alone would be very nice already and the gold rewards could be translated to coupon rewards if PM really doesn’t think handing out gold is a good idea.
And as blood0 said, achievements could just be reset. I would add though that it’s really easy for PM to retain the info of who had a certain achievement already and so account for the resources they already received from it.

Recruit purple heros: 2m creds, 1m ore, 1m energy
Defeat 100 Raid Bosses: 2m creds
Win 1000 battles: 2m creds
Buildings upgraded to level 20: 500k creds, 100k ore, 100k energy
100 successive PvP wins: 5m ore

still totally useless imho (except perhaps the pvp), considering most players at that level already have 10s of millions of creds.

But hey, now I have 45m useless creds…

That was a useful update to me, recently i have been building a lot and could see my credits and ore slowly getting down too low. But now that i was able to collect that stuff i can keep on building :)

just seems a little silly to me that the reward for high lvl buildings which cost millions of resources, even tens of millions at higher lvls, is a little bit of res that is less than i can get from a single pvp.

Where are the actual rewards for achievements posted? Seems it should show what you will win in the game so one can be motivated to accomplish said achievement. I agree I completed some and went wtf? only 100 or each resource for that?

Well if you tons of ore on hand – couldn’t you just start a new galaxy – build up the building for the coupons and then rejoin your old galaxy and keep the new one as a sister galaxy?

Gold will never be rewarded or traded for, that is Paymages bread and butter. He set up the mall to use Coupons but that continues to be inadequate until everything that is purchasable with gold can be bought with coupons as well. 1 gold = 1000 coupons now and atleast you can earn coupons. I think hero cards and time boosters are still not in the Coupon mall.

Please be realistic. Getting skill books with coupons was a huge step towards non gold players being able to compete. You are complaining about hero cards with the recent change in refresh counter? If I was gonna complain it would be able not being able to get upgrade books (those 8 level 1-2 skills still aren’t cutting vs 5-8?) or respect heroes without gold.

+ 1. Gold should be used to speed up your growth, not to give you a permanent power advantage.

It is extremely likely and very easy too spend $50 / 500 gold on this game and see little benefit. The Gold prices for certain things in the store is extremely high and certain items are very much like a casino or a slot machine. If your lucky you might get a usefull magic book but most of the time you will be going through 50-100 books just too see one usefull skill. You will mostly end up with 90+ science/hit/speed books out of 100.

In other free2play games i have gained far more “bang for my buck” when spending money in the store. I could drop less then $50 on a group of characters in another game and see real solid advantages without ever needing too spend more too compete. Maxing a character costs very little and does not rely on a random number generator where the odds are stacked heavy against you. You can buy a lifetime subscriptions too other MMORPG’s for $200.

Here its completely the opposite. If you want 5 muilti or triple attacks expect too spend $500 and even then its not a sure thing. The same goes for triple attack, crit and dodge. You can spend $50 just for a level 50 item. Too kit out 5 war com heros with a full set of purple rings/bodys expect to be paying $500+. Other then a few rich players i don’t see anyone spending that much here.

This is not a massive A+ MMORPG title which costed hundreds of thousands too make. I don’t believe we should have to spend more then $50 too gain any significant advantage or increase in content. In other games you gain a massive advantage for spending ANY money as it upgrades your account too premium. You can buy very strong skills for $10 in them games and items cost around the same. Here its 5x as much.

Premium in them games normally gains you so many advantages that you don’t mind spending more. Why not have a system like that here? Spend $10 in the playmage store and your account gets upgraded too premium with 2 free hero slots, 7 days free VIP and 1 free bag space. (one time upgrade offer) This would get a lot of players into the store.

I know a lot of players in game who refuse to spend any more money on time world because they see it as way too costly and to dependant on luck. $20 too $50 is a reasonble amount too expect from your average gamer in a free2pay flash game. You should get a lot for dropping around that amount. What shoulden’t be expected is $200-$500 or more. Thats what you have too spend here too see any significant advantages or increases in gameplay.

There should be far more ways too gain Gold. On top of that cash shop should be far more competitive. Playmages marketing team should take a look at cash shops in other MMORPG’s and see how they handle their pricing. If they make it just as competitive they will see a lot more money coming in then they do now.

The gold system isn’t such that one needs more ways to get it but that what you get from using it is, in itself, a RANDOM chance for failure. You are spending real money for a CHANCE that something cool might happen. It’s the same thing as a slot machine. Even the things you purchase, like upgrade gems/books, that aren’t random still have a random chance of failure.
