Uh, look who’s talking, noob. Your the one asking for help. And btw, your base sucks. It needs a bunker, and a tesla guarding the opens.

Dude, I already mentioned I was going to get a bunker, tesla, planner, laser etc. Also, how does that relate to my base? I want comment on my current base, not “you should get like 4 monster bunkers soon, and like aerial defense towers etc.”
Anyway, Destroyer80, even pros ask for help sometimes. It’s how you get better.
@bobby449
Too big. I think you need to paste it in paint, then take away all the white space by dragging the “unused white space” till there’s none/very very little.
Where’s your putty harvesters? It might seem useless but you need lots of it for upgrading/building defense and unlocking/upgrading later in game. Booby traps could be better placed, but decent…oh, and just in case you don’t know, you shouldn’t cut corners because enemies can go through. I haven’t tested the corners like you, but just keep aware of that. Decent base, once you get Town Hall Lv4 you want to start changing your base. BTW, why the heck do you have so many finks? They’ll get killed by booby traps easy (800 dmg approx.)

Wait how do I remove the white space I used paint to try to cut off the edges to make it fit and also hide things like resources but instead paint made a bunch of white space. The putty harvesters are on the far right but are cut off. The finks are dropped in after the octos so the path is already clear for them. Thanks for the advice and telling me about the corner. That about covers all the things said to me.

Alright. Are you cropping the picture? Don’t. Take the screenie, then you know how there’s squares at the sides? Drag the corner so it fits. Don’t crop the picture, that just makes more white space.

I was glancing through the Backyard Monsters’ developers site and found a decent base building guide that also explains pathing a little.

I flagged your post since another user posted the same warning therefore your reposting of all three pictures is basically 2 pages of spam we have to scroll past.
I appreciate your trying to help lancelight, his base clearly needed it when it was first posted, however it was solved on page 2 almost a week ago.

Well, here’s my base: [normal sized image that has a large filesize](http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt338/croc2000/Backyardmonstersbase2.png)
Had to change from my last design that appeared to be easily pokey+octo bombed.
Also, you may notice that the main design is rotationally symmetrical, and because I haven’t replaced the mines that were used in the last attack, there are some missing. Each corner’s mines should look like those on the bottom left corner.

I have some advice, even though your bases design is much better than mine at the moment, I would suggest you put blocks on the corners of the wall you made surrounding your town hall. s monster can jump those corners and can attack through those corners.

I agree, even though it looks like you are using the gaps to lead monsters into the path of the laser towers, while at the same time the mines damage them. I think the paths would lead the monsters to the laser towers even if those gaps were eliminated and the mines could be repositioned elsewhere.

Another Player. I thought they saw my base in this thread and was attacking, but it was just a revenge attack.

> That’s a fairly solid defense imo. I will try (to the best of my abilities) to list the pros and cons for you.
> Pros:
> Catapult Resistant (to a certain extent)
> Well guarded silos and town hall
> Nice tower coverage and overlap
> Good wall placement/usage
> Cons:
> Poor trap placement
> Easily Putty-bomb-leveled (due to damage invulnerability monsters could take out your flanks quite quickly)
> Little/No pathing (not sure if that’s terrible in this case. However, I would try to path monsters to my strongest locations. Good places for you would be to your laser tower and monster bunker.)
>
> All in all I think your base is well enough defended that it probably intimidates attackers to find another target.
Thanks a lot! I’ll work on it after I get TH5 (in 5 hours).

Nice base, massive firepower in one spot, heavily protected silos and town hall, i’d say awesome base.
The only thing thats not good is the towers are too stuck together so catapult would easily destroy all your firepower leaving the flesh of your base without your defenses.

my protection runs out soon and id like to know your thoughts on this setup, eventually I will run the wall all the way around the yard in solid gold.

it looks ok.., and like the booby traps killing the silos, but I don’t think you need that many booby traps. Also, put some walls to divert Eye-Ra attention if you have spare and use your wall more. You have a high enough level town hall for a load of walls…
It’d be good to see where you overlap your fire, but looks decent, with several towers covering the corners.

This is a post on base pathing I wrote as part of another topic. I think that it is so important to base construction and many people don’t understand what it means that I am reposting the whole article here.

Don’t pay attention the awful MS paint job. These are not the droids you’re looking for. Move along.
This is an excellent example of what pathing can do for base construction. All buildings in the path other than the target were already destroyed when I attacked. I flung in the Ichis they were just past the area I marked as the landing zone (close enough). I expected them to move to the block with the blue X and destroy it to move through the diagonal opening created. This would have been the shortest distance not moving through a stone wall. In fact it only needs to destroy one wood block to work.
Instead they followed the red path (7 blocks southeast then back west 4 or 5 blocks distance). It was a group of 20 ichis but when calculating if to destroy a block the game does not take number of units into account, only monster damage. The group still easily defeated this tower, but I was still shocked to see it happen.

my base atm..pretty solid and i know my harvesters are a little vulnerable but since waiting for TH6 to cover that up better.
tell me what you think

the only thing people really want to attack or gain from attacking is your silos, town hall, and harvesters. your harvesters NEED to be protected. I see that you’ve got a few mines laying around, but that’ll only work once, the next wave/ones that survived/ones that weren’t thrown yet will wreck you. THEY need the protection. build more blocks/move your towers to protect them.

a word of advice at the head of your defense the 2 cannons and sniper are vulnerable to catapult fire.To fix this put a silo in the middle of them as this HIGHLY discourages catapult fire as it destroys resources. That’s really the only place in your yard that’s vulnerable to catapult fire.Plus more than half your harvesters are vulnerable to attack at maybe the 4th wave.Fixing this up is easy just put down more blocks and move the harvesters close to your towers.Remember octo ozes and ichis will eventually destroy your towers especially with bandito or fink back up or maybe if your unlucky D.A.V.E back up as well. You HAVE to be prepared for the unexpected.

Change the pebbles near your TH to sniper towers or tesla+move one block on each side to get two nice chokepoints with boobie traps
|
|
|
metadata

What to do :
1 → tesla tower
2 → peeble shiner
3 → sniper tower
4 → silo
5 → sniper tower
6 → laser tower surrounded from
I know that the canon-sniper-sniper combi at the east is vulnerable to catapult fire, I’m thinking to set a silo in the middle after I’ve upgraded my TH to lvl 5.
