Hello everyone, this is the Mud and Blood 3 Masterthread, as an attempt to curb the amount of people who ask when MnB3 is out, or what theme it’s going to be, etc. First, I’ll take a stab at answering all the questions I can. Then, if you find more questions, I can ask urb and get them answered.

So anyway, here are the basics:

Setting: WWII, either an Allied or Axis campaign starting at the D-Day invasion and going to Berlin. Here are urb’s specifics:
Beach
[Open terrain couple of dirt road, rare farm houses]
St Lo (50 boards)
[Farm lands, Bocage, streams and scattered trees]
Paris ( Long and lethal way up to the French capital, 300 boards)
[Less Bocages, rare farm lands, heavy forests]
Bastogne (Then up to Belgium, 300 boards)
[Isolated houses, dirt roads, forest and some cliffs]
Aachen (Entering Germany, 200 boards)
[open ground with cliffs and streams, rocks]
Remagen (Across the Rhine, 150 boards)
[Farm lands, roads, rivers with bridges sparse forest]
Paderborn (German country side, 200 boards)
[frequent country houses, farm lands and paved roads with sparse rocks and cliffs]
Berlin outskirts (200, a bit reduced to be able to extend the Berlin battle)
[City streets, gardens, large buildings and rumbles]
Berlin center (The heart of Berlin, board represent a larger scale to represent the tough fighting that ended the ww2 in europe, 100 boards)
[‘the bunker’, final battle]

Release Date: urb is working very hard to get a closed alpha release near Christmas time, but there is no confirmation for it, nor is there any given final release date (urb just doesn’t work that way)

Fighting Style: It’s gonna be small squad tactics – smaller than MnB2, and you will have to pay attention to more conditions of your soldiers. Here’s what ranks do:
< : Can kick/throw back or suicide dive on a grenade to save the squad.
<<: Switching to pistol if relaoding and there is enemy close, Kick in hand to hand,
<<<: Can cook grenades, Can crawl (move) when pinned
<<< ) : Can take allied gun laying on the ground and use it, unpin nearby soldiers
<<<)): Rise morale of nearby silders up to 25 (a la Sarge)
<<<))): Baby sit officer, Raise up morale to 30, Can perform officer fire control orders

Suggestions? Remember MnB3 is an advanced version of MnB2. However, it will receive much more community input before becoming a final game. You may ask for a greater variety of weaponry, units, etc., but no decommissioned things, nothing futuristic (it’s still WWII, no ray guns, laser guns, this is not a mass market FPS), no inappropriate content (no strippers in-game), and try to make sure your suggestion is well thought out to have a role in the game.

What do we know about units? Since its going to be smaller than MnB2, we will have chances to choose a the wide array of options we already have? Or just infantry? Maybe they are going to be armored squads? Just asking

1 Is there going to be a German Campaing . Germany’s Blitzkrieg . Cause they will need to lose every battle .
2 Will you be able to upgrade Max HP or how fast they throw granades ?
3 Will there be a skirmish mode ?
4 Will there be cutcienes after the battles ?

@sadekkaoz – They will likely be like MnB2 squads currently are, although urb mentioned something about more in-depth micro-managing such as managing your soldiers’ equipment weight, etc.

@kaloan -
1. You can actually play as either side and run the German campaign if you want
2. Likely, as experience will increase reaction speed and there already is heroism in MnB2 for increasing HP
3. Doubtful, but not impossible.
4. That’s really all up to urb. Some might say it’s a waste of time while others appreciate it. Maybe even some user submitted content would make it in…

Not in the short or medium term foreseeable future. There is a good possibility in the long term urb will make MP games, just likely not the MnB series (he will likely start with a STWALT/LW type game)

1.Spec Ops specific kinds…. Spec Ops Sniper, Spec Ops Sub machine gunner,etc.
2.More variety of trenches: How deep, trenches that connect to bunker, a bunker where you can hide artillery inside.
3.barns or small buildings for troops to shoot out of and hide.
4.New Equipment or units(expanding to up there^): Different grenades(smoke grenades), different guns(pistols),attack dogs.
5.Terrain: Desert, city fighting, taking buildings.
6.Expand the game size, have a full screen mode.
7.I enjoy playing this game very much! :)

hey man really great game just hope you guys can make the next game as real as you can. and take you’re time no need to rush that’s how people like you make good games. Just hope to see new weapons and viechales and medics that can do a lil more like carry smoke grenades or pick up their teammates to safety something to help the wounded warriors or have some of the wounded soldier above 7 percent health crawl or take a pistol to defend himself whatever works for you guys. and have people bail out of viechales and have covering fire …fire grenades . whatever you guys come up with im sure it will be outstanding and urb keep up the good work !!!!!!

Can we get experimentals? like vehicles that had a certain purpose? There were shermans in D-Day that would float onto shore… so how about a river crossing level and D-Day level Allies get this. Also an experimental sherman with a rocket pod on the turret was being designed by the allies… i just think it would be cool to have exotic stuff

The Sherman will likely get more modular in MnB:III but no guarantee.

I would like to know more about ribbons and medals in MNB 3. For me that was at the heart of why I love MnB 2, endless replayability because you want to get that extra medal that slightly helps you and each time you get slightly stronger.
Can you also tell me a bit about leveling up (as a commander, not units). Perhaps skill trees – but with each level taking a very very long time to reach?

1)Maybe a Gillie suit for the snipers…. or a camo HQ. Also, Ally and German mining (particularly German with a mine defusing specialist unit for each. 2)A Medic that can fire a service Pistol 3) A Field Hospital for quick Healing. 4) Underground Bunker System? 5) A Button to call in your own wave of reinforcements (with enough TP of course) 6) Spies for each side—- Like a 2% chance a normal soldier is a double agent….. PLOT TWIST 7) A runner that can advance and relay GERMAN DEFENSES…. THANKS FOR THE CONSIDERATION, and Making this Game!

actually…i all ready saw the setting…but i was expecting smthing like a new war era…or old one…ex:civil war,the war we had in afghanistan,world war one,korean war,the revolutionary war,or world war 3.But you guys all ready have your setting, just thought i would share some input….

1 Maybe unit trees, the more experience acquired in the different trees unlocks different stats/weapons/attachments/training and skill trees for you.
For example. For the unit trees, like have a few starting troops such as infantry support (signalers)- special infantry (Flamers)- defensive Vehicals- Offencive Vehicals-
then from there, as the specific tree (infantry) gets exp and levels up you acquire new units for that tree ( such as snipers and stats/weapons/attachments/ and training)

Mud and Blood IIII will be future-themed according to urb.

At the rate urb goes, I’d really wouldn’t anticipate the next theme of mnb4. There still is ways for mnb3 to be done, not to mention he has countless other projects and is working solo in between the time he takes away from his actual job.

Personally, I’m betting WW 4 will come around before MnB4 does. :P

1) A Army or Marine Corpsman that can use a M1 carbine or Thompson
2) Paratroopers use M1A1 Carbine that is slightly more compact (improves the speed at which they move) than the M1 Carbine
3) An Allied campaign level played as Russians with Russian weaponry and the ability to call in a Katyusha rocket truck
4) A Special Ops mission like rescuing a high value POW or Scouting for Landing sites for an Amphibious Assault or something like that performed by a small number of OSS Soldiers using the M3A1 Grease Gun with an Integral Suppressor
5) Soldiers in tank turrets using MG will duck down into the turret if there is a large volume of fire aimed at them
