The units are there, somewhere, but the game doesn’t recognize them at once.
I went to the “air support/option” tab (instead of the “squadron” tab), and suddenly my units were recognized.
The trick is to go to the squadron tab after building the units, see that they aren’’t there, close the tab, open it again, and they will be there. You usually need to reopen something after changing something for some reason
