How can you see the accumulation of victory points during the game? Thanks!

You can’t.

VPs are intended to be hidden information. If they weren’t, you’d always know exactly when you were ahead of your opponent, and as such when it was best to try to burn through the monster deck (either by intentionally losing or using abilities like Banish). You’re supposed to gauge for yourself throughout the match how well you and your opponent(s) are doing.

I get what your saying but in the card game you’d be able to see the vps taken by the other side AND easily calculate your own because they are in front of you. For example, if you turn your head away for a second and miss your opponents VP take, you’ll have a lot of trouble planning tactics in the long run because you won’t be able to gauge future cost/benefit decisions. And the card game it would simply consist of a glance of your hand to know your vp points, but this is not the case in digital format.

Indeed, VP is not secret information, it is very obvious, you can count it on paper, just the UI forgets to track it.

Imo, it is just lame trick to cover the snowballing weakness of the game – on many occasions if you knew VP, you would know you’ve already won, and just be bored going through pointless motions.

You may not have noticed this, but the monster cards go into your deck when you kill them. They will come up during play, but never all at the same time. In the card game, you cannot look through your deck and count your points until the very end. Also, it would be against the rules to keep track on paper.

I can see how you would be opposed to this concept if you were unfamiliar with real-life board/card gaming, but it’s a pretty key mechanic in dozens and dozens of games.

You can keep track of VPs on paper, but it’s against the spirit of the game. In a game against real players, it’s effectively cheating (although I did see someone do this at a minor Dominion tournament in Victoria, and nobody called him on it until he played against me).

Cards that give VP’s in Thunderstone are open when fought and gained, so can be counted.
In a two player game an easy way is to just keep mental track of difference: I’m up 4, now up 2, down 1, etc.

One may argue that it’s against the spirit of the game to count it out on paper, but it’s definitely not something that can be seen as ‘cheating’.
Cheating is stacking decks, looking at the opponents hand of cards. If a tourney has explicit rules about certain actions, those are meta-rules.
Formal tourneys have them about note-taking: short note-taking that is open (visible to opponent) tends to be allowed.

Fair enough, although if you found a tournament that allowed tracking VPs (or the cards people buy, for instance) in a game where you are not allowed to look through your deck, I’d be pretty shocked.

In my opinion, it’s flat-out cheating. You’re meant to keep a general idea of the game-state in your head and by the cards you see coming up, not by writing it down. If you were, they’d have included a score track.

a quick question. If I discard a monster card that I slain will I loose its VPs in the final VP count? (I guess so but I am not sure)

Yeah, with the exception of a few 0-point mobs, I would never ever trash monsters. Sometimes it can be worth losing a 1-point mob, but only if it’s going to give you something brilliant in exchange.
