Heh same here! Looking around to see if any acquaintances have posted in the forum somewhere, and to say goodbye.
It’s been fun, and frustrating, to play this game, lol.
I wonder if anyone will make a game like it, with tournaments, great community and chat next to the game while playing.
Great fun!
A pity the devs didnt make it even better instead of making a p2w -version of it. Oh well.
Thanx all the same for a great game for 3,5 years!

It’s dead then. All great things come to an end. God damn. It was intense and no other game in the genre really compares.

This Game was my life. This game was Honor to me. After Beta ended and started out playing when i was little it was the best distraction ,and a true game to be palyed, even though despite i didn't comeback for one last mission of great respect, therefore Long Live WAR METAL TYRANT. Long Live KKSquad my family,my Freinds, and my mentor. I learned so much that the devotion, hardwork, and the respect was MADE for TYRANT. Thank You.

(Thread necro: but I HAVE to get this off my chest.)
Look, let's be real. Oh, yeah, I'll reintroduce myself again.
My name is Jeremy Burr and I played this game from the release of Enclave to (Beginning of) Purity. I loved it during that time. It was my 2nd favorite game (Second to Diablo 2). I made many friends at the time; some of which (Martin Jeffrey's of Platinum Divinision) I am still friends with years after the game even got shut down. I managed to start my own faction (On the original FB app, before the Kong server existed) and achieved being the #12 Faction for awhile. That said, this game, for a time, was important to me; and FOR that given time, I consider it being one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played.
So let's get into the nitty gritty when it comes to why I think Tyrant died.
Let's start with; Why did I stop playing after Nexus? Well, let's look back at what was different about Nexus.
1. It was overall stronger than Enclave, the first expansion.
Enclave wasn't stronger than the base "Gold Set" (If you make a few cards like pre-nerf Mind Controller [6 Health to 4] an exception). It was just different and added variety.
On the other hand, Nexus offered cards with just plain more HP, more overall damage, and overall less turn cost.
That's a plague among Collective Card Games referred to as Power Creep. When older sets are made obsolete by more-powerful newer sets.
2. Nexus was Warbond only.
So, Power Creep in of itself isn't always that bad, but when said set becomes the first "Pay to win" set of a game, it destroys games.
I must say that Nexus was tolerable. It was definitely a pay-to-win power-creep set, but its affect was minimal at first. It wasn't until Purity came out even stronger than Nexus that the game immediatly died to every single free-to-player who once enjoyed it. That was when I quit playing. It wasn't fun anymore. My faction went from #30 (#12 lasted roughly a month) to #60 in a matter of weeks after Nexus, and plummeted to #250 after Purity came out. The whole Faction's purpose was to recruit free-to-players who just wanted to be laid back and not worry about obligations. I was lucky to have recruited many players who were very active, despite the lack of regulation. However, once the power-creep was ushered in, it destroyed everything. No one wanted to be laid back and free-to-play if it meant not being able to compete in any way whatsoever. Purity single-handedly destroyed my Faction AND my enjoyment of the game.
Through some of my friends who still stuck to it, I learned about Homeworld before it was released. It was going to be the first non-warbond pack since Enclave. So I get on again, excited to play with a strong free-to-play meta again, and only find disappointment. The packs cost 30,000 Gold. AKA about 10 hours of grinding PER PACK. That would have been not-so-bad, but atfer grinding into many packs, I came to the realization that this set sucked HARD. It was completely inferior to every warbond pack, including Nexus.
From my point of view, that's a BIG feces-covered slap in the face. Not only was I disapointed, but I felt like Synopticon just gave us (Free-to-players) a big middle finger for wishing to compete with warbonds.
The player-base plummeted after that. It went to something like 20,000 active players at any given time to 8,000 within a few months.
Don't let your convictions make you believe that anything but greed killed this great game. You can play the white-knight all you want and defend Synopticon for turning this game into a cash-cow; the reality is that, that's what happened and many of us resent it ferociously, because we once loved this game too.

Er, Homeworld was crazy when introduced, Refresh basically killed everything and was the start of when Tyrant powercreep became nasty (with Summon breaking it completely). However, it costed 60k back when it was introduced, it was reduced to 30k later.
