Well, I am somewhat sad to see this game go, but look on the bright side everyone! Kong might step in and give us free stuff in other games for all our wasted time like they did when Backyard Monsters closed :D

Say it aint so synapticon!! I found Tyrant on kongregate 15 months ago and have been playing everyday. ive spent lots of warbonds and still have some, my collection is getting to be full. Will you keep in mind trying to start up Tyrant warmetal agin in the future? your game has alot of content to keep a newcomer busy for a year, and im sure new and old would like to play again even if you take a hiatus for a few years.
thanks for the good times and a place to make friends.

But surely implementing a feature that drives the game into stagnation and not addressing that is a form of neglect?

Give me my $10 back that I spent like a week ago. I never got the WBs.
Stop making new stuff if you’re just going to shut the game down. Waste of time.

You had such a promising game here in the beginning. Your updates were good in the beginning (minus the surge only update which was quickly fixed), but then you got money hungry. Your constant need to change the meta and make OP cards showed that you wanted to take advantage of your paying customers, and cause other players to start paying just to keep up.
You have a long ways to go until you’re respected as a Developer by your community. Don’t ruin your future games in the same way you did Tyrant.
On that note, thanks for creating this game which I had much enjoyment playing since the beginning. We did truly have an awesome community for quite a while.

I think you should not do just 1 major last update but several smaller ones.
A first step would be to make Awakening token-buyable, fix a few bugs and **remove that raid opening cost**.
The number of raids is declining really bad and it’s kind of sad because the raids are more of a social aspect than grinding missions and they at least offer a little more variety.
These changes should just take a few minutes at best, so please implement them **soon**. There is no need to make a death-sentenced game even more dead than it already is.

Wow, okay. Now is the time to ask myself “What the hell am I going to use to replace Tyrant?” (If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be grateful).
Couple of things: thanks, I guess, devs for not shutting it down earlier.
Give us all 1mil wbs so I can complete my fansite profile? :’) (Actually this would be pretty interesting if everyone had all the cards and who could come up with the best decks).
And more along the lines of the game and something you should take note: as developers, you have come up with a great idea. The art, mechanics, getting people hooked…. you do well. The maintenance of the game though.. leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. You allowed bots to run rampant for so long, alts, account sharing… without doing fuck all. Yes people were still playing/paying, but as an experience it sucked. Be more active within the community, it doesn’t take much.

Any plans for non-mobile Tyrant 2.0? (kickstarter/non-browser MMO/standalone)

The sad thing is that a number of the old whales saw exactly what you are describing and all left because of the business model.
EDIT: I realize that I should second Mak’s thanks. The game was a hell of a lot of fun for a long time. I must have had a good 18-24 months of solid enjoyment from this simple game. I have met a lot of amazing people and had some entertaining conversations and battles with various community members.

> It will be sad for us too. We’ve had a lot of fun. Unfortunately we simply can’t afford to support the game any more with the userbase it’s at. When the servers finally close it will have been out for almost four and a half years here, and five on Facebook. We’re extremely happy the players helped keep the game up as long as it has been.
Playerbase dwindles because of you not doing anything.

Lol you’re wrong footballpwn. This game started losing a huge chunk of it’s playerbase around the time of home world. All the players who were here since the beginning started to burn out. I essentially had to make a whole new group of friends, cause the ones I had since the beginning had all quit.

If I was a paying customer I’d be furious. Glad I never spent a dime on this game. I’m laughing that he’s still letting people buy WBs, they’re wasting their money now for a game that’s set to shut down. Synap doesn’t care of course, he’d rather find all ways to squeeze more money out of his remaining players. The only way he can justify this is if WBs carried over into his next game.

^I came from there. The grinding there is more tedious especially when aiming for 90+ activity. And if you dont do it…you cannot cope up unless you spend a lot $$$

I know one person that would love to create WMT from scratch again. Any chance that person (not me) could have Synapticon’s blessing, as long as that person does not claim ownership of the content?

No they made their $ and do not care anymore seems more like it.
I dunno for this game if the data is out there but i saw data on another Kongregate MMO game that was less popular than this one, did not have as many paying players and that games revenue was 2.4 million in its first year, it stayed around and semi popular for 2 years before it died and the developers abandoned it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Synapse Games has made AT LEAST 15 million in revenue from this game over 3 years. As the developer apparently does not care about their reputation and does not want to put in any more time or effort for this community it is easy to see how they are just taking the money and running. I cant say I blame them If i made this shit load of $ so quickly i probably would quit while im so far ahead and just retire also. Not that its right or fair, but its not illegal so yea, thats life.

Great devs my arse. I played for a while and quit because how ineffective they were. Game was shut down for days because of a security loophole, and the compensation was minimal, at best.
