I think using Popo with the feather (or just Popo in general) shows a decided lack of skill. When you play that way, you are essentially saying “I can’t win with skill, so I’ll gamble”.

I still laugh at the concepts of scrubs playing Kongai.

It gives a +25% dodge chance, while popo already has a 25% dodge chance herself…

It’s annoying and I’d never want to put everything on luck like that, but if it works…

Use a non-physical attack. Popo dies.
Simple enough :P

You’re pretty verbal about it, MorganFreeman. Looks like you’ve said the same thing in a couple of your comments:
I’m not a fan of it either. It’s Popo with the feather; if you want to gamble, go to a poker site…
People who play with Popo make me sick. There’s isn’t any strategy to playing him except “wow, I hope this hits!”. If you want to gamble, go play internet poker, assholes.

Assume that Strategy A has a 60% chance of winning through a long process of skill (and a 40% chance of losing after the same), yet Strategy B has a 75% chance of auto-winning with no skill involved, and a 25% chance of auto-losing with no skill involved.
The scrub would take Strategy A and flame everyone who uses Strategy B for “having no skill”.
The skilled player who wants to win will recognize that Strategy B is superior and use it.

the thing is, do you play to win?
if you play to win, stop at nothing, if not, try to have more FUN, play with more insane characters.

To reduce the power of an item or skill, thereby rendering it less useful than it was previously.
Kinda like turning the bullets in a gun into nerf darts. Get it?

It was actually named after the NERF guns, the toys with the rubber bullet-like missiles, that can’t even bruise a mouse.

And they’re kind of fun to play with, but I prefer laser tag better. I came up with an unbeatable sniping system at one of my friend’s birthday parties a few years ago.

My take on this strategy…is it’s merely a strategy. Popo is still missing out on other excellent items and goes with depending on luck and a strategy not too hard to go around.

Popo has more variance than most characters, but she is fine overall. She still takes skill to use to her best potential, and she’s pretty weak against several characters.

I’ve seen only one or two good players using Popo with any frequency. And that’s the thing. Strategy B is less superior to A.
If you’re a good player, you will most likely lose more often with Popo than you would without, because you’re putting such an emphasis on luck rather than skill. So I’m not sure where you’re getting those percentages.
I think the thing that frustrates people about Popo feather is the fact that you will occasionally encounter matches where you thoroughly outsmart a Popo feather user, and still lose because of what Popo can do based on luck. I think the main draw of the game is the battle of the minds, and Popo feather is a crutch, with very few exceptions.

I use Popo with the feather pretty often..I don’t have to use Popo at all to win, I can do they just fine without Popo..but I like Popo so I use Popo. End of story. I have a 3 card deck that covers all three attack elements and Popo handles the physical side quite nicely.
Are you serious, there is skill in a game of rock-paper-scissor’s? The entire game is based around chance, whats so wrong with doing that for a couple cards?
And even if Popo does die, generally I win. I don’t care if Popo dies early on generally. If Popo does, then oh well. Chances are Popo was able to infect someone with poison and even if Popo doesn’t my other two cards are decent enough I can win with them alone.

If there was no skill involved, why do we see the same players winning consistently? ;)
For the record, I think Popo is an interesting wild card character. It’s just annoying to see a perfectly executed game come crashing down with the amount of dodges and crits she/he is able to pull off.

I got shot in the eye with one of those “Nerf Longshots” and it hurt :/
Popo is just there… You can’t always win with him, so why are you complaining?
