MMORPG for Kongregate

So what do you guys think about me submitting a browser/text based MMORPG were after u register for the game you can use a in-game shoutbox look at people on the map, have battles and more.

Edit: oh yeah theres also monsters to fight, weapons/armor to buy, levels to gain, spells to learn, and quests to complete

I am 99.9% complete and want to add some icing to the cake but want to know if you guys will really mind.

I know most people think “text based” and go “what the hell” but i hope that you will test it out thank you for your feedback!

Note* this is a continuing development type game so you will find updates to quest, newer quests etc in the game whenever i make one.

BTW my main issue is that its hosted on my site and its not 1 file or a swf file its sorta a full fledged game so its got enough files..
Thats why i sent a message just a couple minutes to Kon about adding it using an Iframe and about some other requests. Do you think they will be willing to do that?

They got Runescape and Zomg onto kong, maybe with some negotiation you might be able to pull it off.

Though I have never tried a browser/text based MMO before I’d be more than willing to give it a shot. I just hope that there’s something to block out or report those that abuse the chat function in the game, given the overall maturity level of a number of Kong members it wouldn’t be surprising to see a number of trifling arguements with curse words and other offensive terms being thrown about like crazy which could just ruin the overall mood of the game for other players. Can’t think of anything else to say so I’ll just be keeping an eye out for it.

Well i can always IP ban if necessary (For only the game though and my site that hosts the game but they will still be able to use the rest of Kong as i cannot do anything abou that so if you are having such issues contact kong admins)

I can also disable the shotubox in worst case scenario but its a waste of a decent script thats seamlessley integrated with the game.
I can also through in Moderator s who id have to select from you guys… The thing is i was givin a pre-made script and given premisson to mod it, and i did, allot.

BTW im also afraid of random kids playing my game for two seconds and deciding they dont like it before they even start and give my game a bad rating so im gona add a tutorial to the game when you register so you already know what youre doing. Ive also found a script to add random tips into the game to make things easier on everyone. I am hoping for a some nice rating when i put up the game so i can get a little money and maybe pay some professionals to spice things up beyond whatever i can do.

For Webmasters/coders/and anyone else who might care read on:

The main issue is that i cant make Moderators for only chatbox and dont realy know how, I can however manually change your permissions in phpmyadmin (what i use to manage my databases) and give you admin permissio but then id be trusting you with the rest of the control of the game… Need someone who knows allot about databases and some php, i just need to create a permission level that can drop stuff from a specific table or feild in my database.

If anyone knows how i might be able to censor offensive words that would be helpfull. But I would like to get help from someone the community here can trust. Like a Mod that allot of people know etc. I do pay for my host and would probably need to give either access to him/her who is helping me out or a backup of my site. And i dont want all my hard work to be stolen.

Thers one more issue, i integrated some Ads that only show when thie is nothing usefull to be displayed for example:

your traveling by using the nav on the top left of the game screen and in the middle it shows if anything unexpected happens, like a monster apears or you stumble upon a situation leading to a quest etc. When nothing happens it says that you continue to explore, blablabla Dispalys a add in the middle and below it a random tip.
It also shows one before logging in at the bottom of the game.

Now i wont be removing these ads as they do not relly impose themselves in your way or show up in anoying places plus since its a MMO im also runing it on my site and although two different copies can be made the server load would be outstanding for my current budget. Would Kong be accepting of that? Does anyone know any Admins or Mods they could PM to join this topic. Thanks

I received a response from kong today… it burned me inside :(

My request to add the game has been denied because its only pausable with I frames…
They said it was too much work to do such a thing, and that when they did runescape it was headache.

I actually worked extra hard because i wanted to bring it on Kong ASAP. I feel terrible right now.
Well atleast i finished with the tips and am halfway done the guide.

On a side note does anyone know of some good sites that teach you how to use ADOBE flash CS4 and Action script 3.0 as i have it on my computer and its just sitting there collecting virtual dust.

That’s bad to hear. Maybe you should try and make your own website and put it up there yourself. I’d be happy to test the game as well.

I have actually almost finished the site… Its sorta in beta. Things are chaiging constantly. I have added a monster images function but i have to find images, i focused on making sure the code was their first then the extras. I am working on a easy backend for adding quets.

This may have been beacuse of some edits i was doing to the source code this week. Yesterday i realised there was a bug when registering and fixed it. Thats probably why.

Hows the site homepage? BTW report any bugys you find. Im aware of a couple. 2 That i can fix easily. 1 im not sure of. The main one that im not sure about is a error when uploading your first avatar. It gives an error but it still works… I dont understand why. Working on it though

Thanks for the support Zand but if u read on u will see Kong rejected my game because Runescape was too hard and they dont want to deal with somthing like that again plus there are some ingame ads and thats against there rules. There are like there have always been many changes going on so you might notice wierd things ocasionaly, like broken links, but thats cuz i either removed watever was there or am adding it soon. The game though is completley playable
