Woohoo, we have some new blood. I pulled up this forum post earlier and forgot to refresh….well…it looks like things have gotten interesting. But for real, yay, more people.

Heyo, fellow alliance members!

I see that a big change is at hand and I want to say that I would like to join the move. Building something with a potential is an interesting ordeal that I would like to partake in.
But first I would like to tell you all a few things that have been bothering me.

I am an officer in a rather casual guild in the Dawn of the Dragons. The name of the guild is “The Forgotten”. You can check our recruitment thread here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/137-dawn-of-the-dragons/topics/275149
We are currently almost full, rolling about with 95+ members. 85+ of them log in every day. But that’s the present. Back then at the start of our efforts we had roughly 20 members or so.
I believe I should share with you my knowledge of things that work really well.

Purging inactive members.
This is hella important. It is like a daily shower. Yeah, you can skip it for days or weeks and nothing bad will happen. Except you will stink and people will start avoiding you. If you have problems kicking out inactive people (maybe they are your real life friends and you don’t want to hurt them?) then pass that duty to someone who doesn’t hold back.

Running raids that your alliance can handle.
Yes, that means no big HP raids. Running big HP raids will make everyone get less loot and develop way slower. You don’t try to jump over your head and break your neck. You stick to raids that burn fast plus a couple of raids where big-hitters can dump their honor. Nothing should be behind the timer. If it is behind the timer you screwed up and summoned something above your current alliance strength.

Promoting fs/os.
This will help everyone get stronger faster. It probably should even be written in the announcement box. It is very important for raids that burn out fast or small for our size (10 mans for example). But it is very important for bigger raids too: got your OS and the raid is way ahead of the timer? then allow other people to get their FS/OS and look for another target.

Looking professional.
That means no mistakes in your alliance’s big message. You follow the rules that you have set up. And any person with power should be obsessed with making things better and smoother for the rest of the alliance.

That’s how I see the basics for a successful alliance.
Feel free to argue and disagree with me or share your own vision of our future. That will help us find the best solution for our alliance.

Leading an alliance… it’s got the same responsibilities as running a business. I thgink the only saviour from inactive purging is revealing the reason why for the inactivity (Like a brief holiday)

Spent some suns to level up with a stat refill and finished off both raids, lets get goin guys.

Also, tip, when looking for charter (if it hasn’t been allianced yet) go into sort by descending….vampyers name is easier to find that way.
