3-day PvP Contest (June 1st, 2012 - June 4th, 2012) (locked)

This kind of Contest has already turned into a tradition, hasn’t it?

Contest rules:

1. We’ll keep track of your victories from 11 a.m. CET (4 a.m. CST/2 a.m. PST) June 1st, 2012 to 11 a.m. CET (4 a.m. CST/2 a.m. PST) June 4th, 2012.
2. All you need to do is to battle against other players and get the scores for your victories. You’re allowed to use Commander’s Auras. By the way, you can make a Commander’s Aura in the item workshop.
3. We’ve got 3 places in 3 categories: “Recruit” (8-16 lvl), “Veteran” (17-26 lvl) and “Berserker” (27+ lvl). We count your level as of current date.
4. Victory gives you 3 points, if you lose, you get -1 point, and if you run away from the battlefield, you get -5 points. If your opponent runs away from the battlefield, you get 0 points.

We do not count friendly PvP battles.

Prizes:

Berserker (27+ lvl)

1st place – 200 Gems + 3 Emerald Dragons

2nd place – 150 Gems + 2 Emerald Dragons

3rd place – 100 Gems + 1 Emerald Dragon

Veteran (17-26 lvl)

1st place – 150 Gems + 3 Emerald Dragons

2nd place – 100 Gems + 2 Emerald Dragons

3rd place – 75 Gems + 1 Emerald Dragon

Recruit (8-16 lvl)

1st place – 100 Gems + 3 Emerald Dragons

2nd place – 75 Gems + 2 Emerald Dragons

3rd place – 50 Gems + 1 Emerald Dragon

What rules? I didn’t do anything illegal in game. I didn’t use any scripts or any hacking tools. I didn’t create any fake or alt accounts. I pressed Fight and fought.

There were no limitation in game for fighting same player several time in a row.
There were no limitation for fighting with nearly empty army.

Moreover 19 wins aren’t that much.

i love this game for it have a excellent PVP game .experts discuss tactics in chat every day .they LOVE and spending their lifetime here.

WHY~ a nearly empty army can do win the contest. Obama’s Army?

You should consider removing 1 point for a defeat.

It makes it too easy to send in 1 pirate and lose. 1 point for 1 stamina is probably a better ratio than 3 points for a proper win when you would need to spend another 10+ stam rezzing troops.

1 point for losing is perfectly fine, but only if a win gives around 15 points.
Giving some random guy 3 points in order to get one point is ok, as it still preserves your chances of being on the first place.
Giving 15 points to some random guy however drastically lowers the chances of getting into the top 3. Also it’s probably not more efficient from a stamina point of view to keep losing then.

So yes, unfortunately the 1-pirate tactic seems to be the most efficient way to win the contest atm. The only way to counteract this, if the rules don’t get changed, is to report all players who intentionally lose, using only a minimal army.

We need Nival to confirm the typo. Losing doesn’t provide 1 point, it gives -1 point. Or so I heard from people that went over the official forums in russian. But i can’t read russian and confirm this.

Sadly, While -1 pt for losing makes sense (hey it was even one of my suggestions), even the official forums in english over at http://www.playkb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=369 also indicate that we get 1 pt for losing.

This needs clarification ASAP. The contest has started after all.

If we do get 1 pt for losing, this will only help the pvp win traders even more.

Using google translate on http://www.playkb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368 does show that we should lose 1 pt for losing. Assuming we are playing with the same rules as the Russians.

If you guys see a player fighting with 1 single unit, please take a screenshot and send it to our support service

so NIVAL makes a pvp contest and cant give us people a reply about our suggestions on update…so sad…(i want my medals back)

Can NIVAL explain us how u will count battles when Veterans battle with 30+ players with max upgrades, max spells etc. Thats is not battle but suicide or flee there is no other option. Ofc i can w8 eternity if i allow only my lvl battles.

I just started this weekend and as soon as I hit lvl 8 I started my first pvp match I got hooked up immediately. I am lvl 13 now, just noticed there has been a contest so I post my results here ( actually do not know the procedure)

I got 20 wins and 2 losses, 4 times my opponents (disconnected/fled) once I lost and once I disconnected myself. So that should be 42 points ? Dont know if thats any good :o

In all honesty, i think that holding this event during the weekend was a bit too much. With all the players asking for answers for various bugs, or the patch changed gameplay, this was a pretty big distraction.

Anyway I played along. Let’s see what Nival have in store for us. We need feedback though ! In particular, last week contest results are still out there uncertain.

For what it’s worth, here is my score for the weekend contest : 22 wins, 6 defeats, one opponent DC-ed on purpose mid fight and i couldnt finish his stacks before the auto-run kicked in. So 60 or 63 pts, in berserker category.

Concerning the pvp in the new environnement ; While i like the theoritical idea of neutral structure buffing of damaging units, having a Wasp Nest/ Lightning Altar spawn in front of your army is pretty much game over in PvP. That, and the new structure spawn in addition to old terrain features (obstacles). So for a melee heavy army, it becomes often impossible to reach ennemies backlines, as the 2 lanes of access can easily be blocked by two stacks, and you end-up having X rounds of doin nothing with your units while their range just kills everything at their leasure. Pretty frustrating. Maybe the game was too much tilted towards melee superiority (ive lost to 5 melee units before the patch, more than once), now it seems like the other way around. Or maybe its more balanced, and i am just being grumpy of old days. The imbalance of attacking neutrals decimating your army is still a big issue though.

what? i got 12 points? something wrong , something big wrong.

i have won 12 or 13 times with a surely 3 points .

and more 5 or 6 games the opponent left the game in the middle,and i killed the all.

Ok seriously, you guys need to get a better compilation method.

Do you really think berserker category topped at 17 pts ? I posted just above my results, 60 or 63 pts. Please double check this. I know i finished second in your actual rankings, but its still not fair, you obviously forgot two days of contest or something ! My guess is that those pts only reflect Sunday.

Yeah, the numbers are way off from reality. I think the scores are only counted for sunday, Gamon and I both got way over 60 points.

Well Picu, i wouldnt say WAY ABOVE 60, as I either have 60 or 63 pts in reality.
