I think it should be restricted. Playing Lunar Base should be a reward for ranking up, the map also requires a lot more coordination and a basic level of understanding of the game itself. Allowing lower ranked players to join a game because someone on their friends list is a MSg.+ takes away that need to rank up, which is what I thought the original premise of Lunar Base was, a map for higher ranked players.

I wanted a map where I can play with higher levels. Sure its fun just owning the less skilled lower level players, but its just as fun, if not more actually having to battle for a win, rather then it just being handed to you.

It won’t let me play :/ I can join a moonbase room but then it stays on the loading screen forever.

Edit: Whoa I take that back. It loaded all of a sudden _ It just did after about 10 minutes is all.

The map is different from the old one, the performance of the classes is different.
1. Tech.

Very low mobility. It is hard to reach the higher capture points, the highest can take a minute to reach, you will be dead or the cap is already capped when you arrive. The 3 lower points are different. You are healing support, and you can help the tanks survive… however: Very low survivability. Your low mobility and the limited space on the upper caps as well as the lack of any shield, rush method…. you die fast. Useless surpressors. Their limited range make even surpressors III useless. And on the caps they get bombed in seconds. So… bad choice for this map

2.Gunners.
Low mobillity. The ability is not enough to get up, and getting up without…. you need some time.
Very low survivability. You cannot hide on the good spots, and you got no shield. Even your ability is not enough to escape… except maybe on the starting cap.
Aiming problems. The enemies are either far away, so it is difficult to hit, or they are near you and kill you.
So… The map is open, it is very difficult to perform good.
3. Tanks.
High mobility. The burst gets you up fast, and with the Comet Rush, you can go up fast. And if you need to go to the lower caps… well, the ramp. The rush can prevent you to fall off.
High survivability. Most HP, the maulers shield, the shield ability… well, that is not a surprise. Survivability is better when you are not alone.
Capping. Everyone else cannot cap for a longer time, they would get bombed fast.

So…. Your team should have a lot of tanks .Tank is a good choice.

4. Scouts
High mobility. The rush gets you up, and you are fast, Q helps, too. However, you can´t stay in the air forever…

Low survivability. If you enter the cap… prepare to die in seconds. Drop the valtechs first. Try to use the gun, except maybe on the gunner( if there is one) Try not to hit the tanks shields, do not use autoaim when multiple tanks cap. Cap: Cap only if the enemies are not on cap. As soon as you see someone coming towards you, run away. So…. * 1-2 scouts are good…. if your team does not have any, use scout.*

Noly, every class is still viable, its just a matter of adapting to the new map, and learning its ins and outs.

I agree with Dotrawr, adapting to the map is key. If you’re good enough with the class you play, you should be able to play just as well on it as you play on Shuttlebay.

Tech getting to the top control points takes a minute???? Blasphemy, you don’t know how to use the boosters…
(for example: from spawn, I can get to the highest point with the forward boosters in front of the spawn) tech is very viable on all the points as long as there is a team there.

Also, if there is a huge gathering at the control point, gunner can easily pick off the enemies inside due to distractions, not too difficult…

As dot and gexsiun have said, you need to adapt to the map. If I were to point anything out, it would be that techs are much better in the new map.

Rebalancing of teams lol, 8 MSg. vs 4 Lft. the 8 MSg. will win due to swarming and since it’s an open space even the shield with hammer as tank won’t do much good.
Also, i found it a bit hard to find the control point arrow because everything around me was grey. Might want to change the color of it or something.

Also, in an 8v8 full match, when everyone is fighting over the high middle point, just fly up and admire the battle, it looks kind of cool with everyone using abilities and shooting each other just on that small platform XD i saw some material worthy of being called epic…. and maybe throw some bombs down there too lol.

Today lavkey showed me another glitch, like the enter enemies base glitch, where a tech can fire at a certain point towards the bottom of the shield wall and have his shots bouncing around inside the enemies base wreaking havoc in the enclosed space.

I have also noticed that the animation for stomping is now gone D: But that you can still hurt people by jumping on their head with SHIFT. Any reason for this?

as a tank, all you have to do is E-Rush and F-Bomb the people off of the cap, with your bubble OR your buckler up. have your mauler out if they try to get close. that scares them away. easy to cap it with 2 tanks and a little teamwork. and 6 f-bombs

I’ve won games on moonbase in similar situations, 2 tanks and a gunner or 3 tanks work quite well.

The problem with moonbase is that tank ruins it, but you can’t cap without any other classes =/
