Skill Design

Since there is a class and weapon’s page, I’m going to introduce a skills page. Whenever I’m on the suggestions or create your own class page I notice that most of the time there’s just a Q-tility skill or a meele or something similar. I’ve also noticed how some people want classes to have different skills (cough tech cough standard kick cough). I’m putting up the skills the we post on this main post.

    Skill Type:E

    Range: Mauler slam range

    Effect: Grabs an enemy with in mauler slam range in a headlock, then throw the enemy. Enemies receive a “Sluggish” debuff after they hit the ground, which causes a 20% percent decrease in movement and firing speed
    Purpose: To teach annoy enemies a lesson in getting to close to gunner :)
  • Twin Turbo
    Damage: 0
    Type of Skill: Meele
    Cooldown: 10 seconds
    Range: 0m
    Distance Moved: 10m at 50mph
    Effects: None
    Purpose: Gives the gunner a headstart when running away from scouts after getting out of its Q.

    Effect: Gunner Assault Rifle has unlimited ammo and has slightly increased fire rate.
    Railgun has slightly increased fire rate.

    Combat Pistol has increased fire rate.
    Purpose: For those people who believe in more bullets, compared to more crits.
  • Cloak
    Radar
    Skill Type: Q-tility
    Damage:0
    Cooldown: 10 seconds
    range: 15m
    Effect Duration: 20 sec
    Effect (idea 1): a box appears on the lower right hand corner. If an enemy unit appears within 15m, this box will start flashing and will tell you what direction this enemy is in, what class, and how fr away it is. It will also start beeping. the closer the enemy is, the faster and louder it gets.
    Note: Not putting in idea 2, its too mainstream >.>

Tech

  • Gex
    Disruptor Turrets
    Type: Q
    Damage: 15 per hit, same fire rate as a supressor.
    Cooldown: 35 Seconds
    Range: Same as S1 supressor (don’t know the exact measurements)
    Effect: Place a small turret every time the ability is used. Up to 3 turrets can be placed at a time. Pressing q after all 3 turrets have been placed will give a 30 second damage buff to the turrets. Mini turrets will are smaller than an s1 and have 100 health each. Turrets will be unable to be upgraded. Instead of the supressed debuff, a “disrupted” debuff will be given, which will reduce the damage output of the target by 10% and slow the target by 5%. Can stack up to 5 (maybe 6?) times.
  • Gex
    Drones
    Skill Type:Q
    Cooldown:50 seconds
    Effect: Spawns 3 drones that stay within close proximity of tech and help in both combat and healing. Using q again will upgrade the drones up to lvl III, increasing healing and damage dealt. Pressing Q again will give you a buff for 10 seconds that increases the bots’ healing and damage. Bots will shoot lasers independently but if you sight in with a weapon, they lock onto your target. The bots’ rate of fire is one shot per second and does not increase with lvl. Lasers will be about as fast as an ion burster bullet Healing will be restricted to the tech and allies within 1 m of the tech. Healing radius does not increase with lvl. Healing activates 3 seconds after the tech recieves dmg health wise. At lvl I damage from each bot is 2 dmg per shot. Healing from the bots is 5 hp per second. Each lvl will increase bot damage by 2 and healing by 3. By lvl III bots deal 6 dmg each and heal 15 hp per second. Bots are not affected by any buffs/ debuffs aside from when q is activated after lvl III. Buff increases dmg by 2 again and healing by 5 for 10 seconds.

Basic’s Note: Seems a bit OP? Even suppressors are affected from buffs and debuffs.

  • Gex
    Warp
    Skill Type:Q
    Damage:none
    Cooldown: 10 seconds between warps
    Effect: Pressing q down once will set a warp pad down. Pressing q again will make you warp to your warp pad after a .5 second delay. Warp pads will be visible to players, but they cannot destroy them. Warp pads can be removed if q is used within 5 m of the pad. Placing and removing pads does not activate the cooldown timer. If a player is on the warp pad when activated, they will be pushed away from the pad and stunned for a short period of time. Much like if you’re hit with a bomb mid air and are fall stunned. This will happen regardless of what team you’re on. Warp pads can be placed anywhere the game allows, much like supressors.
  • Gex
    Taser Cuff
    Skill Type:E
    Damage:35
    Cooldown: 8 seconds
    Range: About as long as the standard kick’s range
    Movement: a simple jab forward, slightly moves the tech forward.
    Effect: Target is stunned for a short period. The target is also given a debuff “Tased” which slows movement by 35% and disables locking onto people. Tanks will still be able to use buckler and Gunners will still be able to use scope on railgun while the debuff is active. Debuff lasts 6 seconds and cannot stack.
  • Shadowrex
    Photon Shield
    Skill Type: Q
    Cooldown: 10 seconds
    Effect: Summons a small Turret. Pressing Q again near it will upgrade it. As it gets upgraded, effect improves. Max lvl is III. Pressing Q again near it at lvl III makes it send out a shockwave.
    Photon Shield I has an aura of approximately the size of a Blitzkrieg Mauler Slam. Players cannot enter, but you can shoot inside. Photon Shield II has an aura of approximately 1.5 Blitzkrieg Mauler Slams. Players can enter, but this time, bullets cannot be fired through the barrier. They can only be shot from inside. Photon Shield III has an aura of approximately 2x the Blitzkrieg Mauler Slam size. Railgun bullets cannot pass through. Players cannot pass through.
    Photon Shield has the same HP as a Suppressor.

Scout

  • Speakofsilence
    Name of Skill: Launch
    Skill type: Melee
    Damage: 20 with knock back
    Cooldown: 5 sec
    Range: 0 (it’s a physical hit like Thunder Kick. Technically same as movement range I suppose)
    Movement: 40 m with same speed as Thunder Kick (cancel on hitting map ceiling)
    Effects: boosts like the kick but you can still shoot and move slightly. The boost is upward with a 30 degree (from the vertical) lean if you are locked onto someone or to conserve your forward inertia. (It’s basically like a powerful jetpack thrust).
    Purpose: Scout has really weak upward thrust (without jumping). This helps mobility and with getting height advantage over enemy (for chop or ambush).
  • Scout
    Stealth
    Skill type: Q
    Damage: N/A
    Cooldown: 10
    Range: N/A
    Movement: +20% movespeed while active
    Effects: Renders the user nearly invisible (a faint outline can be seen) until the user takes damage, attacks, or uses another ability.
    Purpose: Lets the Scout get closer to the enemy to unleash his fearsome Doped Saber Wombo Combo! >:3
  • Cloak
    Saber throw
    Skill type: E or R
    Damage: 100 for headshot, Stunned for 2 or 3 seconds. 60 dmg anywhere else
    Cooldown: 8 seconds
    Range: lock on (automatic hit, 60 dmg) 15m. if not lock on, 25m before it falls down (if you’re lucky it’ll fall down on someone xD)
    Movement: slightly pushes you forward.
    Effect: Throw your saber at an opponent for 60-100 damage!
    Purpose: When slashing fails, throwing will always prevail :D
  • Cloak
    Whip
    Skill Type: E
    Damage: 40
    Cooldown: 20 sec
    Range: 15m
    Effect: Locks on to an enemy that is within 15m. Use your whip to grab him and bring him right up to you, dealing 40 dmg. Your weapon automatically becomes saber.
    Purpose: Teach them not to run away!
  • Cloak
    Laser wings (or wings of steel xD)
    Skill Type: E
    Damage: 50
    Cooldown: same as current kick (not sure exactly)
    Range:0
    Movement: speed is increased by 5mph, When you first use it, a burst forward that last 2 seconds
    Duration: 4 seconds
    Effect: the tip and sides/front parts of the wings light up pinkish. Anyone you fly into and hit with your wings is dealt 50 dmg and slightly pushed back.
    Purpose: Deal damage while flying and give a short burst forward.

  • Gex
    Buckler Throw
    Skill Type: R (press R again or while buckler is cooling down for slam)
    Damage: 35
    Cooldown: 15 seconds. Cannot be used when buckler is cooling down, and adds 20% (maybe15%) onto current mauler charge.
    Range: 15 m
    Effect: Launches a buckler shaped shockwave forward dealing damage and knock back to any enemies in its path. Only usable when the Mauler and buckler are set to current weapon.
  • Cloak
    Speedy Bubble
    Skill Type: Q
    Damage: 0
    Cooldown: 24sec.
    Range:0
    Duration of Effect: 6 seconds
    Effect: Works like a normal bubble except it’s bright yellow to dark yellow, and increases speed by 10mph for the duration of bubble.
    Purpose: For those quick getaways to health or base.
  • M_Sixteen
    Ricochet
    Skill type: Q-tility
    Damage: n/a
    Cooldown: 1 minute
    Effect: All bullets are reflected off of the tank, back at the person that fired the shot, doing 1/3 the original damage of a bullet w/o armor applied. lasts 4 seconds, and the tank cannot be healed by tech, like with the neutron shell, but the healbeam heals the tech faster, because it reflects back.
  • Cloak
    Mauler Throw
    Skill Type: E Ability (I know it’s not a kick but I want to put the idea out there)
    Damage: 55
    Range: low
    Cooldown:30 seconds
    Effect: Throw the Blitzkrieg Mauler at your enemy. pushes you in that direction a little when you throw it. Upon impact, it does 55 damage, pushes enemy back, and stuns him for 2 seconds. You can still have buckler up. also pushes you back.
    Purpose: Use your BM long range style!
  • Cloak
    Buckler of Steel
    Skill Type: E Ability (still not a kick, so sue me :P)
    Damage: 0
    Cooldown 45 seconds.
    Effect Duration: 10 seconds.
    Effect: Buckler takes no damage and doesn’t have to cooldown.
    Purpose: Due to recent nerf of buckler, tanks have had a hardish time defending against snipers while on cp. This will help cap.
  • Cloak
    Healing Bubble
    Skill Type: Q
    Damage: 0
    Cooldown: 26 seconds
    Range:0m
    Durration of Effect: 4sec
    Effect: looks like current Q, but instead of purple and red, it’s green and blue. Tank cannot be hurt for 4 seconds and is healed 37.5 hp/sec for those 4 seconds.
    Purpose: To not only protect the tank, but heal it as well.
  • Cloak
    Attack bubble
    Skill Type: Q
    Damage:0
    Cooldown:26 seconds
    Range:0m
    Duration of Effect: 4sec
    Effect: Looks like current Q, but instead of purple and red, it’s bright orange and red. Tank does not take any damage for 4 seconds, and does 1.35x normal damage for 4 second.
    Purpose: For those tanks who want to do a little more damage.
  • Cloak
    Smash
    Skill Type:E
    Damage: 25/50
    Cooldown:25 sec
    Effect: Swing your hammer at the other tanks buckler so hard that it breaks. Enemy cannot use buckler for 8 seconds.Does 25 dmg.
    If the tank either has no buckler, or the enemy is not a tank, it does 50 damage.
  • Shadow
    Bounce
    Skill Type: E
    Damage: None
    Cooldown: 2 seconds
    Range: Blitzkrieg Mauler Slam range.
    Movement: Up-down movement, by approximately one Standard Kick.
    Effects: Fallstuns every enemy around AND knocks them all far away. To push stuff off the CP.

    Veltech high speed missile
    Skill Type: F-Bomb
    Damage: Same as valtech Concussion Bomb
    Cooldown: Same^
    Range: Same as flare
    Effect: Instead of Lobbing a bomb like the VCB, the missile shoots straight ahead at around the same speed as flare.
    Purpose: For when you need to do damage straight/farther ahead.
  • Speakofsilence
    Name of Skill: Noob Lasso (Also considering Noob Drag, Round Up, Human Shields, Enlisted Reinforcements, and Incredibly Trolling Move)
    Skill type: Q
    Damage: 0
    Cooldown: 40 seconds (lasts for 5 seconds)
    Range: All allies on screen within 30 meters
    Movement: slight slow down in speed depending on how many noobs lassoed
    Effects: Lassos all allies in range and pulls them behind you as you move. Allies can still shoot, use bombs, move side to side, and use jetpack, but cannot move more than 10 meters away from you.

Nope. It’s technically a Gunner’s weaker version of Hypercharge with the added effect of unlimited ammo. Oh, and a shorter duration.

Effect (idea 2): everyone has seen this type before. A circle. green. the red line going in a circle, then it shows you where the enemies are a dots. It will also start beeping. the closer the enemy is, the faster and louder it gets.
Purpose: to notify you when that pesky scout(or any other class) is coming to kill you while you snipe.

Wow great ideas, maybe they should be things you can add or change depending on the rank you have. For example when you get to lft you have all of them available and you can customize your kicks and boosts.

Also, where does the mauler go? O.o Does it just lie there until you go pick it up? (Or maybe it should be pick-up-able by anyone. Imagine a scout grabbing a mauler and flying around knocking people in the head with it XD)

I was thinking of 5, but then it’ll be too short…so I’ll take 8.

i love all of cloak’s ideas for new tank bubbles!

Here’s mine.
Gunner:

Belt fed:
skill type: Q-tility
damage: 0
cooldown: 45 seconds
effect: similar to ammo link, but no increased fire rate, just continuous fire for 10 seconds, railguns shoot at 1.75x normal speed. while locked on, you fire at 1.75x normal speed also.
purpose: the more the merrier, right? why not apply that to bullets!

Tank:
ricochet:
skill type: q-tility
damage: n/a
cooldown: 1 minute

Maybe for scout you can throw the saber? Or semi-invisibility (you can only see a blur and can’t be locked on) for 10 seconds for getaways? Or you can just not get locked onto for 10 seconds?

Lol I know basic’s going to complain about me not using his format XD, but these are only half ideas. Someone else flesh them out.

Effect: the tip and sides/front parts of the wings light up pinkish. Anyone you fly into and hit with your wings is dealt 50 dmg and slightly pushed back.
Purpose: Deal damage while flying and give a short burst forward.

Damage: 0
Cooldown: 24sec.
Range:0
Duration of Effect: 6 seconds
Effect: Works like a normal bubble except it’s bright yellow to dark yellow, and increases speed by 10mph for the duration of bubble.
Purpose: For those quick getaways to health or base.

Gunner

Skill type: Q-tility
damage: 0
cooldown: 40 seconds
Duration: 7sec.
Effect: AR: unlimited ammo, 1.25x dmg
rail gun: shoot at 1.5x speed
shotgun/ AS: unlimited ammo, 1.05x speed for normal shotgun
Combat Pistol: 1.25x rate of fire, 1.25x damage.
Purpose: The best of both Belt Fed and Ammo Link! Bullets, Bullets, and more Bullets!!!

Yeah, I had thought about this but wasn’t sure if it was a good idea or not.
But if it were to happen, it’d probably be something like this:

Scout
saber throw
Skill type: E or R
Damage: 100 for headshot, Stunned for 2 or 3 seconds. 60 dmg anywhere else
Cooldown: 8 seconds
Range: lock on (automatic hit, 60 dmg) 15m. if not lock on, 25m before it falls down (if you’re lucky it’ll fall down on someone xD)
Movement: slightly pushes you forward.
Effect: Throw your saber at an opponent for 60-100 damage!
Purpose: When slashing fails, throwing will always prevail :D

I really like the steel buckler, but I feel like it sounds more like a q than a e. Here’s my possible edit (or put it separate, but all credit to cloak XD).

Buckler of Steel
Skill Type: Q
Damage: 0
Cooldown: none, but it takes time to activate and deactivate
Effect Duration: toggleable (it’s like the gunner’s crouch)
Effect: Buckler has a slightly larger area, takes no damage, and doesn’t have cooldown. Tank can’t turn or attack, but can move slowly and throw grenades. Protects everyone behind it. (I’m using the reload time of the rail gun as a time measurement) Takes a one rail shot to get into position (slightly crouched with a solid shield instead of a clear one) and 2 rail shots to get out of.
Purpose: Due to recent nerf of buckler, tanks have had a hardish time defending against snipers while on cp. This will help cap.

Interesting. Hadn’t thought of it as a Q. Bubble always seems like a necessity xD

(I’m using comparisons to comet rush because I’m not sure of exact numbers. Sorry XD Someone else is more than welcome to fill in numbers)

Effects: Instead of knocking the enemy down, this shoves the enemies back (kinda like a grenade throw).
Purpose: This allows tanks to push bubbled tanks off the cp. Also, throws enemies so you can deal with them one at a time. Or, just push enemies off of cp to either preserve your cap or allow you to finish capping.

Riot shield is more of a weapon. Look at the design weapons thread. Oh, and I posted a scout saber throw above.

Damage: Same as valtech Concussion Bomb
Cooldown: Same^
Range: Same as flare
Effect: Instead of Lobbing a bomb like the VCB, the missile shoots straight ahead at around the same speed as flare.
Purpose: For when you need to do damage straight/farther ahead.
