Still waiting on RoS (Remnants of Skystone)?

Hmm, as it seems to be a week or so after the beta has actually been released by the owners of RoS (Remnants of Skystone), I am still eagerly awaiting a beta email, which at this point im almost ready to give up. I keep watching the creators twitters and my Aim mailbox, but i have yet to receive anything at all. As an act of patience I’ll create this post in hopes that someone will say that i merely might have been over looked on accident and that the beta already has all of its people on it already. If that is the case i wish the owners would see this message and at least notify me of any such thing. Otherwise ill keep over exciting myself to play this game in hopes that i play it during the beta instead of after, because i like playing a game as it evolves.

Still seems that im unable to access even though i did post in the actual forum. Since they are slowly letting in people into the beta, its kinda odd that they said that everyone who posted would get in and how long it feels its taking to be able to play :(

Well, the reason you’re not in yet is that you asked on page 116, and they’re not that far along yet. Be patient :)

True, im on 116, but by the time i play it seems it’ll be pointless for me to even try to figure out any issues with the game lol

Not really. When you’re accepted, there will still be time to beta test it. If you really want into the betas faster, than you have to lurk the forums more.

my question is that why didn’t they send e-mails as people posted, was the game not ready yet, or was it some other reason that i can’t think of, and on a side note, it’s gonna suck for me because i posted in the 200s page area

I never get emails for beta tests, I have to get someone to give me the link when I think I’ve been accepted and check back until the link works :/

I signed up on page 150-odd, I think. When do I get to beta? I mean, greg can get the first pages of the Arena beta like nothing!

I asked one of the authors of RoS, capital555 in RoS chat yesterday. They say they’ll probably make the next round of invitation after some features they’re currently working on are complete. My guess would be a couple of weeks away.

Honestly? A few weeks and they wont have more then the beta people they have now, it would have been more effective to just throw it as 20-50 pages on the first week, and so forth, i mean stress testing is just as important as actually finding out whats wrong with it, by the time we get around to testing in a few weeks many of us will have lost interest and honestly will let the game die due to that lack of interest. I’ve seen in in too many alpha’s and beta’s where the admins focus so much of their time with a few testers that they forget what the game is actually for – the gamers. If its an MMORPG, then it should be treated as such from the very start. If its a matter of the game processing or other things I could understand, but generally it is viewed as best if you actually explain how the process is going other then saying not a direct quote“we’ll send out invites in waves”

EDIT: I will wait out this process anyways just cause im a alpha/beta junkie that likes seeing people get far with whatever they do.

@KillerFrogs – Its because it wasnt released yet on that topic, it was basically them getting people to sign up for it before they actually did release the beta.

@XYTWO – honestly they should have closed it by now, the beta is out, but i understand that they want to keep it open to invite as many people that want to beta to be allowed in.

Yeah i saw the update on Matt Neff’s (Developer of RoS) Twitter, hopefully i get it sometime this week, since 2k is easily past the first 200 pages of that post. Just checked on my email currently i have nothing in spam or anything, crossing fingers though

2000 post make would be at the very end of the 80th page, I’ve done the math for it.

I’m glad that you’re on 102, only 14 pages and im in, but i still feel bad for guys like kyru and xytwo who are so far away, hopefully we’ll all be playing ingame here in * crosses fingers * less then a month, as for anyone from this forum topic I’ll gladly help you and work with you once we’re in game :D

well, being that they’ve already set a deadline for the end of this month ( http://www.kongregate.com/forums/12/topics/46017 ) it’s pretty hard to patient much longer, are those that signed up recently will only be able to test the beta for a few hours before the full game comes out? I was seriously under the impression that everyone who signed up will get a decent time frame to play the beta. Also on a side note you guys haven’t reach the 200 page area even though, from what I’ve been hearing, you could use the extra testers.

@killerfrogs comment) Ouch..i read that and wanted to bite the persons head off for being so negative, its slated as a beta and the poster keeps noting how much is to do, if they are going to do a full game release it would be only natural that they have a lot to do. They do have a ton of quests ready im sure but they might not have turned them on and i completly doubt that they would have a slated date already since they just went beta and probably do still have a ton of stuff to work out. Read their twitters (links on their site). They keep noting that they are working on fine tuning things and adding content, so they aren’t just sitting around. If there is a defined date thats great, but hopefully they wont rush anything and even in an open game they should be working to add content like any good developer which i know they will.
