In this thread feel free to post anything of note concerning how the game works. Following is some little tidbits I’ve noticed:

*If you have lifesteal and attack a creature with retaliation damage, lifesteal will help mitigate the damage but only if you are not at full health to begin with.

*If everyone in your party is retreating in act IV and all the monsters in the wave die (say from poison or retaliation damage) before your party flees, everyone will return/stop retreating and you’ll go on to fight the next wave.

*If you use gambler’s dice on an item with the “socketed” trait and have filled the items with runes/sparks, you will lose the last two runes/sparks if after using the dice “socketed” is not one of the traits. The items are not returned to your inventory.

*You cannot use gambler’s dice on an item with a spark of legend.

*Lucius’ “benediction” (+100% to all resists) ability does not provide resistance to stun.

*Scrolls of deception are never used up when passing through a potential ambush.

*Similarly, when choosing a path for your party to go down on the dungeon map the AI will try to avoid monsters but will not not try to avoid potential ambushes, even if there is an alternate path free of monsters. This can lead to unexpected battles.

Feel free to post other factoids!

  • Items that activate “on critical” or “on kill” will only activate once per attack, even if a single attack results in multiple kills or multiple criticals.
  • Restocking at Tier 1 will result in Runes in the Emporium Consumables, but Shards will never show up. Restocking at Tier 2 or above won’t create any Runes ever again, but will create Shards.

Random info about elixirs:

*If you use an elixir on a character in the party selection screen, the elixir will still be in effect when you start a campaign (this includes act IV). However once you quit the campaign the elixir’s effect is cleared.
*If you use an elixir on a character in the party selection screen and don’t include the character in the party, the elixir’s effect will be cleared once the campaign is finished.
*BUG: If you use a trollsblood elixir, the health regen (based on max health) is calculated at the time of use and is not recalculated when the battle starts. This means that you can equip gear to maximize your health, use the potion for massive hp regen, then re-equip standard gear.

I can’t speak to what happens at Tier 1, but I can assure you Runes do still show up after it. They still show up at tier 20.
