they are very different characters. CC is more of a tank. rath on the other had is a heavy damage dealer.

Do you think you would prefer Hypnotic Stare over Domination or vice versa?

Its hard to analyze one move taken out of the larger context of the whole character. If its a question of CC vs Rath….then the smart money is on CC…no doubt. (especially equipped with girdle)

Weeeel… Domination has the technical advantage that, if you get REALLY lucky, you can cause Higashi to use Chi Blast in a benched ally of his…
I tend to see myself using Domination more often then Hipnotic Stare, as it can be used both ranges. In the pratice, thought, as previously mentioned, Constantine is, as a individual character, better then Rathbone… And ideally, you will prefer to be close with Constantine( Despite his Voidstream attack ), so…

In my opinion, Domination is the better individual move, but CC is generally a little better than Rathbone.

Well the thing is I’m just comparing their individual moves. One thing about Hypnotic Stare is that it has no counter and Domination gets nullified by Girdle or any character that can’t be interupted. The attack your teammate thing can vary wildly between who you are facing. When it works it’s beautiful but generally it is very luck dependent. Plus it sucks it’s one and one with you with rathbone.
I’ve used Constantine before and as I reached higher up the ranks, he’s still a very popular opener or ender. However, I found many characters that can defeat him. While Pilebunker can deal 70 damage if the bonus also hits, it’s also the slowest attack of the top tier characters. The better players use Pilebunker more as an implied threat. I

CC is solid especially if you give him girdle, his move set is IMO one of the best in the game, blood burn is one of the most sexy underrated moves. rath on the other hand imo is a terrible opener. He is too fragile, sure he has a decent threat close for 40 energy and can dominate at both ranges, but the problem is, many many cards have faster attacks that can stun him or demolish him if you are caught unaware. domination is okay, but it CAN be countered, ie if you have a card that cant be interupted, you will be hit then you will return an attack at his bench. CC’s hypnotoad move lets him work on ANY attack slower than 6. In addition, lets say you have one of the many cards that have slowed your oppenents attacks, that allows even MORE posibilities. Any move rath can interup cc can reflect. Rath gets demolished by bestor, while CC if played well can be much more of a threat and i feel CC can escape from bad matchups easier than rath. in addition, i find rath too predictable while CC is so sauve

Cornelius is good but slow. I have him in my deck but he has many glaring weaknesses. With the newer characters, he can no longer be a favorite in many matchups.
Rathbone is like the dark knight version of Bestor. Play with either one but not both in the same deck or you get the same weaknesses. Bestor’s Flame Sword Frenzy can be countered by having light defense however Rathbone’s Heart of Darknesses does massive damage even against a character like Marquis.
Comparing them side to side, Rathbone is much more dangerous than Cornelius against anyone really however Cornelius has his favorable matchups too.

CC with girdle is definitely a grade A combination and a force to be reckoned with by most characters.

rath is too predictable. CC has a debuff which takes away his predictablilty. Rath has 3 good moves and 1 VERY situational one. (ie recklass firestorm). I still much prefer CC over rath due to CC’s MUCH better innate though imo rath has access to better items. IMO rath is far to fragile. his Heart of darkness isnt fast enough to really make up for the lack of low HP. CC can handle more attacks. CC is top teir while imo rath is just middle due to the increase of light magic characters that can beat him quite easily!

The same way you do it with all other cards. Work on your yomi.

CC is a threat at most ranges, the best part of CC is his ability to escape from badmatchups cause of his high threat ability. he has (IMO) the 2nd best debuff in the game

no, anything where you can loose hit rate is the best.

That is dumb. Too many attackers have access to guaranteed hits via items.
The best non-damage debuff in the game is MLM’s
