of course it has a crit rate. every move has a 3 % crit rate, with the exception of some moves that have an increased crit rate (trueshot, slingshot, dashing strike, etc.)

Earlier it had 25% crit rate, but since the 75 damage would kill to many chars 1hit, it was reduced to the standard 3% and got Soulcrush, which would boost it to 70 damage only plus now you would have to subtrack both physical and dark resistance… But if you are really lucky it crits and procs, dealing 95 base damage

What is the percentage that it will crit and proc? Does the miss rate come into play?

Normal damage = ??%
Crit damage = ??%
Soul Crush = ??%
Crit + Soul Crush = ??%

Can someone fill in the question marks with exact numbers? In other words, if I did a PileBunker on a normal character just resting, 100 times, on average how many times would each above scenario play out?

Bunker has a 0.03×0.25=0.0075 chance to crit and proc, assuming it hits.

If hitting is factored in, the equation reads 0.9×0.03×0.25=0.00675 (ie. it will hit, crit and proc 0.675% of the time)

Factoring in Tomes, Pilebunker could do an obscene amount of damage, but only about 0.9×0.3×0.03x0.25=0.002025 (i.e 0.2025% of the time. or two in every thousand attacks).

I believe the only move capable of doing more damage is a crit on Anex’s Power Toss with her ability and Enchant Blade turned on.

Enchant blade doesnt buff power toss.

Cain could do the most dmg in the game with enouch buffs from ubuntu.

1.) you don’t calculate crit rate (hit rate x 0.03), it’s 3 % (so with pilebunker as example: 10 % miss, 3 % crit, 87 % normal hit)
2.) one time i had a critical pilebunker with tome drain and soul crush :D
3.) the highest possible damage can deal rush of bats:

cain with gem of souls, gets anex’s and Vanessa’s inniate, opponent is Marquis le Morte. 9 rain dances of ubuntu are active, cain is in his powerzone, and it crits.

9 (base damage) + 9 (rain dances) + 10 (the damage bonus of vanessa’s innate against MlM) x 1.5 (cain’s inniate) x 1.5 (anex’s inniate) x 1.5 (crit) x 5 (rush of bats hits 5 times)

=> ((((9+9+10)x1.5)x1.5)x1.5)x5 = (((28×1.5)x1.5)x1.5)x5 = ((42×1.5)x1.5)x5 = (63×1.5) x 5 = 94,5 × 5 = 472,5 damage =P

add tantrum into the mix

Plus another Cain’s innate.

vanessa’s innate doesnt really boost the damage, because RoB is a dark move, its only negating MLM’s dark defence.

Wrong, it only works that way with Popo’s Slingshot (50% crit 10% normal hit 40% miss). In any other case, you have 3% to crit after hitting, Pilebunker has 0.9×0.03 to crit.

@justme2000
hard, very hard xD

@darkfrogger
yeah, i forgot about tantrum xD, makes around 556 damage then i think

@metalmadness
duplicate inniate isn’t possible (anex & cain is possible, but not cain & cain)

VV inniate boasts the damage, since it gets multiplied by the other inniates

@zakid
are you sure =/? i always though every crit functions like slingshot

posted by Kataphrakt: “VV inniate(innate) boasts (boosts) the damage, since it gets multiplied by the other inniates (innates)”

Yes, but as metalmadness said, you forgot to subtract mlm’s dark resistance(10). Anything with vv’s innate that is dark merely cancels out the other characters defence. For example, vv’s dark move always does 20 damage regardless of the dark resistance of the other character.

If you add tantrum, then the rain dances would begin to time out so you would have 8 rain dances and 1 tantrum for a total of 12 extra damage. If you did 2 tantrums, you would have to rest in order to get far and use RoB. This would get you 6 rain dances and two tantrums for 14 damage. Bear in mind that while you’re doing this someone is trying to kill you. If you’re already in cain’s innate you won’t have time to tantrum. If you’re not, it is pretty hard to time the damage taken just right so you have a shot at him with the innates activated.

BTW the highest damage I have ever seen was against kong-bot. I forget against which char but it was somebody without light resist. I had Helene with 6 rain dances, an enchant, a crit buff, and she was using sharpening stone. She critted for 184 damage. Not as high as what you guys have been saying, but slightly easier to pull off.

i guess i have to explain it again:

Rush of Bats with Vanessa’s inniate (against MlM): 19×5
Damage to MlM: 9×5

Rush of Bats (against MlM) in power zone (only Cain’s): 13×5
Damage to MlM: 3×5

Rush of Bats with Vanessa’s inniate (against MlM) in power zone (only Cain’s): 28×5
Damage to MlM: 18×5

so as long as cain isn’t in his powerzone it really only add’s the “ignore defence” effect, but as soon as cain is in the power zone the extra damage of VV inniate also gets multiplied, what means that it deals extra damage

and i calculated with two tantrums and seven rain dances and that MlM goes far after the second tantrum (it’s only a theoretical calculation)

No, look at the wikia under Critical hits hit rate, dodge, and critical all are rolled on ONE dice, so 3%crit means 3% of all tries not 3% of when you hit. Only proc rate is applied later. Popo’s sling shot is just a standard example.

Kataphrakt – thanks for the explanation I get it now…
But, I doubt you’ll ever pull it off even against kong-bot (send us a screenshot if you do)

Even if MLM decides to go far, unless he’s unlucky as hell with the proc, he’ll use tele to counter RoB (or switch) and bring you back close where the best thing you can do is hit him with a 59 damage tackle instead of a 90 damage RoB.

Also, unless double slash misses or you kill VV at range, cain will probably already be hurt when mlm comes in, meaning you’d probably only get one tantrum in before you died. It’s a nice idea on paper, but not likely to happen in a real game.

yeah, it’s only theoretical xD

In a five-card match, you could also add in Zina’s innate for a bit more damage.

You could actually have quite a bit more damage if it were against Onimaru who’d done a lot of ancestral spirit, as he can get well over 10 dark resistance.

Where we are at Zina… If you kill her with Gem of Souls, does her inate trigger immediately on you or do you need a second kill? And then, does the damage boost work on multi-hit attacks?

avatar for darkfrogger darkfrogger 3828 posts

you need a second kill and the damage does boost multi hit attacks i once got ambrosia to kill zina then i killed a yoshiro gained beast feast and i killed 2 more people before ambro died

Okay, so Proc is a separate dice roll? So the true answer to my Qs are.

Normal damage = 87% of the time
Crit damage = 3% of the time

Soul Crush = 87% * 25% = 21.75% of the time
Crit + Soul Crush = 3% * 25% = .75% of the time

Crit + Soul Crush + Tome = 3% * 25% * 30% = .225% of the time. That’s 1 out of 444 times.

Am I getting this all correct?

I wish it was ALL on one die. Have all that stuff stack up easier to figure out on the fly.
